In this area we have a ton Papers that are free to the public and fully sponsored by paid advertisements. It's really not even understandable why they would need to subsidize the webpage by charging the readers. There are so many companies that want to get at readers. How many years have News websites been free to readers and now they want to try and change things like this?

One of the reasons that news sites have been going more to a pay model is because ad revenues that used to support web sites have been seriously on the decline...to the point where the sites lose money.
