We not only need a leader on the floor but also a vocal leader off the court, someone who's not afraid to speak his mind and not hesitate on calling out players when necessary and at the same time gets the respect from the players..

Gallo doesn't have leadership skills, sorry guys. Knicks need to obtain a player that can provide that ledership consistently and plays well at the same time. The player got to be superstar with a swagger and can handle NY. Lebron? chris paul? Dwayne Wade?

The Future. GO KNICKS!

How many games can you name, where David Lee took control of the game down the stretch. Made the right decision, in the right place on defense, put the team on his back mentally/physically. Gallo has potential to be a leader, but you cant' disappear for major stretches of games and be considered a leader. You have to bring it every minute. I actually think the guy that is closest to becoming a true leader is Toney Douglas. He has that Charlie Ward air about him.

Gallo has a lot of work to do on his mental approach to the game. He has to get slapped in the mouth in order to get going and that's not what Leaders do. I think he's smart enough to be a leader and he has shown passion at times, but he's way to passive out there. I will say that it's to be expected at his age. He's got to transition as Dirk did from scared rookie to a Tough Leader. He's got to demand the ball and tell guys to get out of his way a bit more. No more passing to guys that aren't as good as he is. When that kid is aggressive you really start to see how much talent he has.

Totally agree nixluva....as always.

just to add....Leadership isn't just guys that demand the ball and take the most shots. Its about controling the huddle and reinforcing what coach wants even if they don't agree. Knicks have no self policing. Guys freelance too much and basically do their own thing. Can't expect a team that knows 80% of them aren't in the plans to be a cohesive force.

AH is a perfect example. It's why he must be going now.

Leaders are born, you can tell a leader as soon as you meet some one...I read books on body language, did a little research own my own, and you really would be surprise by how much you can figure a person out by there body movement, in just minutes, even seconds if you can see them walking.

I think gallo will be a very good player once he gets that confidence, he needs to get some games under his belt, and what I mean By games, he actually needs to win some games on his own, carry us for a stretch. He'll never be a leader, but I do see him being able to be 2nd option on a very good team.

I think leaders come out of the gate like, Kevin durant, brandon roy, d will J Kidd shawn Kemp ect...Pipin could never be looked at as a leader, and he had the skills and work ethic, but you saw how he responed when MJ stepped aside for a minute. That how i feel about gallo, he could be as good as PIP, but to lead a team for 82 games, i just don't see it..
