Our favorite beat writer says we'll go after Brad Miller. : /

If Marcus Camby is indeed off the free-agent market, the center-less Knicks may be desperate enough to investigate Bulls 7-foot backup center Brad Miller come July, according to a league source.

Though he just turned 34, Miller still has something left in the tank -- he is a serviceable, decent-shooting big-man that coach Mike D'Antoni could use for his offense. Team president Donnie Walsh craves a center to give the Knicks the sizeable defensive interior presence they lack.

If it's for the minimum, I wouldn't mind Miller.

That happens and I become an Orlando or Denver fan.

Camby is about to get $12mm a year and he's like 50 years old. Look at the contracts OK4 got, Brand got, Dampier, Murphy, Jamison, Marion, Gortat, Milsap, Boozer, etc etc etc.

Giving Lee 6 years and $70mm starting him at $9mm next year is a BARGAIN for an all star 20/12/55% guy with point forward skills.

Anyway...

crzy.. I dont like it. Why Felton? Why not get a playmaking wing like Livingston, Mike Miller or even Joe Johnson so Toney Douglas can start at PG? That improves us defensively because TD is our best defender on the wing and the guy can really score.

My #1 focus would be adding Lebron, Amare or Wade in that order. The only way Lee doesnt come back is if I can sign 2 of those guys. Remember for another team to match my 6 years $70mm offer starting at $9mm they need to start Lee at $12mm.

If I cant get one of those big 3 I offer Bosh a max deal, resign Lee and use the remaining money to fill out the roster and get a play maker like Livingston or Mike Miller.
If I cant get Bosh I turn to Tyrus Thomas. After that look to add a guy like OK4 or Dalembert. Maybe even Brandon Haywood to play center next to Lee.

My focus is a defensive shot blocking center, moving Lee to PF and getting a playmaker on the wing like Mike Miller or Livingston, a guy big enough to start at the SG spot so Douglas can play PG. He's not ready to run an NBA offense, but he can certainl score and defend in this league right now.

That addresses our biggest needs in size, defense and playmaking. It helps us improve from within by maximizing what we can get from Lee and Douglas.

I'd rather have Bosh than DLee... but if the difference is $8M salary in year one... you think about keeping DLee... IF you can get a starting center. I agree that DLee + a good shot blocking center is better than Bosh alone.

I'd love it if we could offer Wilson Chandler and Eddy's expiring to GSW for Biedrins and someone like CJ Watson in a sign and trade.

We need a shotblocker. I really hope Donnie accomplishes this somehow. I want Biedrins or even Tyson Chandler. We need a shotblocker in the middle. We need an anchor. We've needed it since we stupidly traded Camby the first time.

I'm really over Bosh. I see the guy everyone labels Lee as. He's a really skilled player and puts up great numbers, but thus far has not been able to really lead that team to very much. Assuming Lee would sign a 6 year $70mm deal the $8mm difference to upgrade to Bosh makes zero sense to me. If you want to play them together Gallo/Lee/Bosh is a great frontcourt for an uptempo team. Use the $8-$10mm you have left to bring back Walker and Barron for bench and go sign a play maker like Mike Miller or Shaun Livingston.

The only scenario I want Bosh coming here is having Lee return as well. Then you still have money left over to get a playmaker on the wing. The good thing about Bosh is he's a nice piece to have. Worst case is we can move him in a deadline deal for some young players, picks and expiring contracts.

Unless he's playing next to Lee having Bosh as our big offseason aquisition doesnt excite me. Neither does Felton. Lee is too good. He's a home grown all star and a self made one at that. Its beyond me why he's so dogged here. Reminds me of what Bullets fans used to say about CWebb. Then he went to cow town and everyone was like wow.. he's a pretty good player.

If we dump everything into guys like Bosh and Felton while letting someone like Lee go I'm done w/ basketball. I cant follow another NBA team, but these last 5 years have bred such apathy I'm ready to just be done. Football and baseball are enough. Thank god for the Yankee and the Giants.

I agree we need to team two all-star level guys together in the front court. I wouldn't be opposed to Bosh and Lee at all. But we'd need to upgrade the backcourt somehow and not have much money leftover to do so.

I think the best way to upgrade the backcourt is get Douglas starting at PG. He's a heck of a scorer, he was the fastest player in the draft last year and he's our best defender on the wing. He's also NOT ready to run a prime time offense, and lets face it... if you have Gallo/Bosh/Lee you have to get those guys good looks.

I know some people wont love this but I think Mike Miller is the perfect fit here. He can start at SG and run the offense. Douglas is great at pushing the ball and has a good handle, but Miller is much more of a play maker. That would let Douglas play off the ball on set plays. You would have about $8-$10mm after maxing out Bosh and giving Lee that 6 year $70mm contract.

Your starters would look like:
PG Douglas 6'3
SG Mike Miller 6'7
SF Gallo 6'10
PF Lee 6'9
C Bosh 6'10
bench: Chandler, Barron, Walker, draft picks

I think thats the type of DAntoni was hired to coach and I would be pretty happy with that assuming we whiff on Lebron, Wade and Amare (I would love to sub Bosh w/ Amare in that scenario)

You also have Curry's expiring contract which will be a very nice piece at the deadline.

- Sign Joe Johnson to the Max
- S&T Chandler for Rudy Gay
- Slide Gallo to PF
- Trade Curry straight up for Corey Maggette and Turiaf

Turiaf
Gallo
Gay
Johnson
Douglas

We'd be running a more offensive version of the Atlanta Hawks

- Bosh and Colangelo have already stated they will try to work out a sign and trade for Bosh.
- Bosh has stated he wants to play with an allstar quality guard
- Miami is rumored to be willing to move Beasley in a S&T

All signs point to Bosh heading to Miami(Wade) or Chicago(Rose).
