Knick fans have the same problem when most people that get unexpected money suddenly and aren't use to it. They want to go crazy and make a splash. They forget common sense. Well I think it's time to update dj's "NO THANKS" list for 2010. These are just a few off the top of my head that I want no part of this summer.JOE JOHNSON - GTFO. 29 years old and is starting to break down. He is not a franchise player and takes way too many bad shots.
CARLOS BOOZER - LOL. It must be a contract year because someone is trying to play defense with little success.
BEN GORDON - The problem here last year was the contract year. So it is all downhill until the next one comes up.
ELTON BRAND - Is he still in the league? Too many injuries and not enough production for his contract.
EMEKA OKAFOR - Never lived up to expectations and now appears willingly to fade into the realm of mediocrity. Even Brown knew.
AMARE STOUDAMIRE - Defense is non-existent. Concern about his ability to fulfill his contract without missing significant time.
CHARLIE VILLANUVEA - Good month. Bad month. So so month. Begin cycle again. No thanks.
TRACY MCGRADY - Is this 2000? Oh no. Well his time has come and gone.
GILBERT ARENAS - Ballhog who lives to take bad shot after bad shot. Besides strict gun control laws in NYC, just ask Plax.
AL HARRINGTON - been there. done that. There not enough shots in the world for Al. He will always need another one.
STEPHEN JACKSON - one of the few guys that Al can actually say hey try passing the ball more without someone laughing.
You guys are welcome to add to the list.
i would add David Lee to the list if it's going to take anything more than $10M per to sign him (& i mean per as in average annual value, i don't care that he can be signed for a 1st year salary of under that amount, i don't want a guy like Lee taking up no $15M in the cap in the last year of his deal)
i would consider trading Curry for Okafor depending on who we're pairing him up with in the frontcourt... if we do end up signing Lee, then Okafor would make a lot of sense to me... Lee will be gobbling up the lion's share of the rebounds anyway, all i would look for from Okafor is his shotblocking & defense in the paint... the dropoff in his play in the latter part of the season also had to do with a drop in minutes played as well.
i would consider anyone on this list if that's what it would take to get Lebron or Wade to come here this summer.
