Bogut did not get high enough to finish and grab the rim. If he had not attempted to hang on the rim he would have been fine.Dunking with two hands on a fast break is dangerous in general when trying to hang on the rim because your legs are going to swing forward whether you are pushed or not.
Very true. I don't see the Amare "push" as that significant at all- his hands were just resting on his back, to be honest- incidental contact with little or not force behind his hands. Bogut needed to hold onto the rim, or just dunk it slightly with is fingertips and let go of the rim quickly- the kind of 2 handed dunk on the run that ends up with the ball hitting the player in the head. The only thing Amare's presence did was to make Bogut go to the basket a littler harder to beat him.
Tough play to watch
Amare had no play at the ball. Bogut had already dunk. He sandwich him at the rim basically using Bogut forward momentum. Bogut was unable to come down and protect his self. Amare actually continue to run under the rim. He should have protected Bogut as he came down which was evident. So while slight, Amare contribute to Bogut's fall, physics just took over.
