LMAO.

I know the question we're all asking in our heads. Can he shoot the 3?

ROFL at Walsh continuing to get players that the coach has no interest in. I'm starting to see what some have been saying about this. Yet I'm willing to give it next season before I jump on the "String Mike up by his balls" bandwagon.

All I can think about is how inept Ainge looked before he got KG n Allen! He was getting KILLED just before those moves. Just proves how much perceptions can change in a short time with the right moves. We'll see!

we have yet to fill Jonathan Bender or Jared Jeffries' hugely valuable roles on this team & here DW goes & brings up a 7 footer that can't shoot the 3 pointer or be a shutdown defender on the perimeter... unforgiveable!... wasn't there any way we could have traded Jordan Hill & 2 future 1st round picks for Mehmet Okur & held onto Jared Jeffries? how can we expect MDA to win championships with a team that's lacking in a 7 footer that can't shoot the 3 & no glue player to bring it all together?!

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Difference was Ainge stockpiled young talent and kept his own draft picks every year.

This put them in a position to make a trade with a former team mate.

We have cap room, but little else.

Ainge never gambled like Walsh has. He is all in for this summer. If Ainge had missed out on the KG trade, he would have kept developing his youth, and might have found another trade later to make if he had needed.

When Walsh swings and misses with Lebron, we get to over pay for 2nd tier talent like Joe Johnson who won't make 1 bit of difference to our won loss record.

A team full of Mehmet Okurs would be Mike's dream.

Rest assured if we strike out this summer we will re-sign Bender (and Duhon and Harrington). We don't need another Jeffries though we already got him: Gallinari. Mike plays Gallo just how he played FishLips. Jack 3's and guard the smallest player on the court so your man (a forward) can overpower the Knick guarding him on the switch (a PG) and get scored on endlessly! It's truly a thing of beauty!

We still have plenty of assets.

We can S&T Lee or Harrington or TMac or Duhon....
We have Chandler and Douglas...
We have a 2014 1st rounder (lol)
We can absorb salary.

We have plenty to make a trade work. Any trade we can do today can be done without Jordan Hill or the 2012 pick. We can make it work.

The thing is I was trying to write it in as a strong point for my point of view. Sadly...I couldn't do it without laughing at myself.

I'll give credit where credit's due - this dude actually had a nice game against the Clippers tonight. Very active and he showed a little bit of a scorers mentality out there.

You got 6'11" Dwayne Jones leading the NBDL in rebounding and triple-doubles (and going for almost 18 ppg and 1.77 bpg as well) and you got strong/active PF Alexander Johnson going for over 20 & 10 (I thought the idea was to replace a banged up Al Harrington in the lineup - Johnson seems to be a more suitable replacement -- but then there's Al playing last night, so who the hell knows anymore)..Just going by the numbers because I don't know much about Barron, he doesn't even seem to be a shot-blocking presence and to me that's what we need most right now -- just look at last night's debacle in Golden State --- same old story - we manage to score some points but leave the front door wide open and roll out the red carpet for opposing players to come right in and score at will. No resistance at all. It's really been sickening to watch all year, thank God it'll be over soon...Jones & Johnson are about 2 years younger than this cat and more productive. WTF - If you're gonna call up guys from the D-League, go get the best. Golden State calls up the NBDL's leading scorer in Reggie Williams, San Antonio goes to great lengths to secure & stash away arguably the D-League's top PG, Curtis Jerrells, and we get......wait for it.....wait for it.....Earl Barron!?! Journeyman center extraordinaire...Hey even if they don't like Jones and Johnson for whatever reason, fine. Go get me the premier shot-blocker in the NBDL then (Wisconsin's Greg Stiemsma - 3.5 bpg in only 27 mins. [6.1 per 48 mins.]) and see if his defensive skills can translate to the NBA...There's a ton of guys I would've looked at before this dude: there's a young 6'11" shot-blocker named Mickell Gladness that's very intriguing, a 6'10" shooter/rebounder that's similar to Gallinari I like named Rob Kurz, I like 2G Mike Gansey, etc... I don't know man -- if they're not interested in bringing up & investigating the top guys available or at least guys that have some specialty-type skills that we could use, guys that may actually fit & wind up sticking, then don't even bother you know? It's like they make moves to bring up guys at the end of the season and then to put together their summer league squads with little or no thought behind them, while other teams always manage to grab all the diamonds right from under our nose.

Totally agree. The next time the Knicks find a D-league player or undrafted rookie that actually turns into a good player will be the first time in over 15 years. If the plan is to sign two max players and give away our draft picks, then finding diamonds in the rough among the d-leage players is a must. Yet, we just bring up a low-ceiling guy like Barron. Walsh shows not creativity. Every move is just playing it safe, which has cost us greatly in having to deal Hill and draft picks at the last minute.

Trust the Process

It's VERY early but I liked what I saw from Earl Barron. No reason why someone like him can't be a 12-15 mpg backup PF to Chris Bosh next season.

Barron may be a better fit that any of those guys. Walsh is paying attention to fit. Not just stats.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

He shouldn't be wearing Bernard King's number. That should be up in the rafters.

I think if we're expecting Barron to be a rotation player in the future, he'll disappoint. But he might be a good back of the roster type player to have on the team in case of injury. We are desperately in need of an active big man who can block shots. Barron isn't that guy. But he may still be a decent addition to the roster.
