Not so fast Marv. djsunyc is correct, July 2010 is only the first day of another cycle. March 10, 2011 should provide enough evidence whether the Knicks are headed to the first round of the playoffs or back to the draft lottery.

Not a day sooner.

once again, donnie gave away hill, a #1 and swapped a #1 for the sole purpose of shedding jeffries' contract by 7/1/10. if he doesn’t score big that day then he gave away huge assets that he didn’t need to. that is what i'm judging him on. i would have been fine with judging him in 2011 if he hadn't decided to roll so much of our future on this one day - 7/1/10. that’s exactly what i'm holding him to.

Listen to this man, this is the only answer.

really, how are folks getting its ok to wait 3 YEARS for to bear any thing of value!!!!?? marv hit it perfect -- how can you extend this out till 2012/13, fail to get any elite guy, and still be employed.

GO TEAM VENTURE!!!!!

I dunno, I think there are some knick management honks disguised as posters sometimes. Once Donnie traded THAT many assets to position himself for THIS offseason, it was game over.

Donnie had enough space to sign one major free agent and maneuver something later when Curry/Jeffries were expirings, but he went all in. There is no wiggle room, or excuse making. I dont care what the Knick management warriors around here wanna claim.

That seems to be a bit twisted logic. If you're only real shot to land 2 Max guys or maybe 3 lesser All Stars, was to move Jared and Hill's money, then how can you say that he didn't need to use those assets. It's clear he did need to use the pick and Hill to get the space. This is the BIG FA market, not the next summer, THIS summer, so if you're going to roll the dice and go all in, this is the time to do that, right? So for the chance to win big you have to risk big. If he halfwayed this and fell short people would say why didn't he go all in.

The 2011 market isn't that bad either. Part of the reason you get cap space is to have flexibility. However, when you trade away your lottery pick and your draft picks to get cap space you lose the flexibility to get guys through sign and trades. Giving away those assets to get rid of Jeffries contract was not rational and I think the chance of it working out positively for the Knicks is slim to none. I am not sure why a guy who is patient like Walsh did something like that. I can speculate reasons. One might be that he is all in with a coach who wouldn't play his lottery pick and can't win unless his line up is filled with all stars. If Hill and picks are packaged in a sign and trade for Bosh the Knicks are going to look really stupid. If Hill is the player he has been with just 20 minutes a night in Houston the Knicks are going to look really stupid. The Knicks have had an opportunity in the draft the past two years because they have been in the lottery. They threw away that opportunity this past year because the coach would not play Hill. There is no excuse for not playing Hill on a team that came out of camp and threw away the season after the first ten games. D'Antoni is not a good coach. Walsh's legacy in my opinion will be determined by how far he goes to prove the D'Antoni hire was the right one. I think he has to be questioning it but seems willing to ride things out. It is interesting that it is being reported that Walsh may ask D'Antoni to hire a defensive specialist as an assistant. I hope he reacts the last time the GM requested that because he wanted his team to have a better chance competing for the common goal of a championship.

The team has been cursed ever since 2001 , but many are still won't believe it and are waiting for an answer that will turn the team around. Redsox waited a long time too.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Look on the bright side.

There will be no more Al Harrington hoisting three point shots when he should be looking to move the ball to the open man.

MDA may be a coach that is only good with a talented team but that's better than having a coach who can't deal with talent.

I think DW knows that there won't be much patience for this plan. He's going to really go hard to make sure that we won't completely strike out. Therefore he's gonna want to have MDA here when he does have better players here.
No matter how many insults fans here want to throw at MDA he had already proven his worth in his career and he's still a coaching star. He built great relationships with All Stars and they likely don't blame him for the record.

I don't care how long it takes so long as its done right.

Im not happy with losing Hill unless Bill Walker becomes a good talent.

While 9 years is a long time, IM not "giving" ultimatums cuz whattaya gonna do? I waited 9 years I can go
two more years if need to. I want to see some progress naturally but the last thing I want is Walsh to panic and
run out and use up his cap all at once unless its Lebron and Bosh.

Trades can be made with cap space.

Spring is in the air. Do other things!

Sebby,

These guys grew up to be douche bags ex-child stars but at one time they were like "Tiger Beat" Teen heart throbs.

I have long said if I had that kind of money and puss knocking at my door at all hours I'd be dead too! These guys were like NBA stars but no drug testing and they swam in it all day long.

Remember to love yourself. No Cheese Fries dude!!!

Marvs on fire these days? Change the meds up? Or Are mine just kicking in and your funn'ah these days!!!!

Spring fevah!
