bill walker is smart and plays with high energy. he seems a decent replacement for nate, except he is a foot taller and can defend.

"He kind of looks like Eddie Curry on the court."

GoNYGo - not even close. You obviously do not actually WATCH a lot of basketball. Bill Walker and Eddy Curry share one thing - a headband and that's it.

"Looks" like?

Bill Walker levitates like Vince Carter, sees the floor better than our former starting point guard, and has the raw emotion of our distant departed Latrell Sprewell and has the passion of an undervalued draft pick finally seeing some light. If he ever learns to anticipate the angles, he will become a respected rebounder.

Nah, it looks like Walker and Vinnie Johnson were separated at birth.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

He's doing for the knicks what he did at K-State, seems like the knee is fine. Maybe he can improve his jumper.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Bill Walker played for an elite college program and ran next to a certified stud in Beasley. He practiced against Paul Pierce.

The Nate Robinson trade is the steal of the century.

Walker is just 22, he said his knee is fine and the explosiveness is back, he said he just doesn't have his quickness and hopes that comes back...

I will say this, I am not sure what we are doing with giddens and if he is out for the remainder of the season, but if giddens can get healthy, this trade can be a great one for the knicks....

There's a lot to like about this kid. In addition to being a very good athlete, a good finishier, he's pretty good defensively and show's good body control when he's going to the hoop. His j definitely needs work, but there doesn't seem to be much more wrong with his game.

I hate the Nate deal and I think it was made because of D'Antoni. That being said I am excited about Walker and I want him to do well. However, this trade was not a steal. Nate has tremendous talent and had the misfortune of playing for a coach who struggles with players who need him to communicate expectations to them and take a position of authority. In regards to Walker his history of knee injuries is very troubling and I think as a player his injury risk was greater than his value for a contending team like the Celtics.

Celtics, NBA

Bill Walker Knee Injury
In General NBA on October 1, 2009 at 2:05 pm
Another knee injury for young Bill Walker

Doc says meniscus tear for Bill Walker and he’ll have surgery within a week. Expected out at least 6-8 weeks.

This makes four serious knee surgeries in the last couple of years

Walker has had surgery on both knees
Walker has ruptured his ACL two times — in 2003 in high school on his right knee, and 2007 as a freshman in college with his left knee.
A minor knee injury prior to the draft sparked GM’s worst fears and consequently Walker’s draft stock plummeted all the way down from a likely first round pick to the middle of the second round … just a year and change after he was being talked about as a potential lottery pick.
And now, his fourth knee injury, a meniscus tear as begins his second season in the NBA … severely hurting his chances at claiming a spot in the Celtics rotation this year.
Bill Walker has managed to hold onto his athleticism through all these injuries, that’s something at least.

He does look like curry. Lol. The kid is good. If he works on his jumper, defense, and ballhandling this summer, he could really help us next year. I hope he continues to improve. We need more kids that know how to play team ball.

Bill Walker kinda looks like Ewing Jr.

Just imagine if he played alongside a point like Nash.
the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

Walker's history seems similar to DeJuan Blair.....great talent; knee surgeries; drafted in second round due to knees instead of lottery pick; recovered and playing well; strong and stocky; everyone hoping his knees will hold up.

Briggs....what do you think?

Not that his knees aren't a concern but its actually 2 major and 2 minor knee surgeries in the past 7 years.

Walker was projected as a high first round selection. Translation - He can play.

Andrew - you know The Answer Man is no doctor, but the good news is that Walker is only 22 and the healing power of a young dude is an amazing thing sometimes.

DeJuan Blair is a great example of hard work paying dividends. Could Walker learn to enjoy the roar of the crowd at The Garden?

Definitely

It is small 18 game sample (about one quarter of a small season) but Walker is 59 per cent from the floor that includes 38 per cent from three point range

Hopefully Walker will make good use of the Summer to refine his game and conditioning of his knees

Summer League anyone?

Next season's team option is for $1,145,640. I don't agree that Walker should work hard in the summer. Summer is a good time for him to work on his shot and rest his knees.

Nate was gone. We got talent bargain talent in return.

It does not make the franchise but its a nice addition.

Nate frustrated Larry, Isiah and MDA. He is better off on the Celts.

Well we already have below average small forward Wilson Chandler as the Mayor, Bill Walker can be the Governor.

If Walker is signed for 3-4 years and plays only part of his contract, isn't that better than some of the other players that we've had that did nothing their whole time here?
