he's not. He's staying. Not only that, but Walsh is giving Joe Johnson the max. In Jan Joe is going to have his first of seven microfracture surgeries in his 5 years with the Knicks. This draft Walsh is going to trade Douglas, Chandler and the Knicks 2012, 2014 and 2016 unprotected first rounders for the 4th pick in the NBA draft and select Luke Harangody from Notre Dame.

Why do you ask? Simple... because god hates whiners. I blame you

We already gave away our 2012 first rounder. Crap! Need a new plan now.

can you give one example of that? Certainly not from me. Who here follows this management blindly? That pretty much ended w/ holfresh finally admitting that Isiah did indeed suck.

Following management blindly is the simple fact that some here disagreed with the put all you eggs in one basket sweepstakes.

When this proposal was 1st mentioned (dropping salary) the management & media sold knicks fans that Lebron availability is the reason why you shouldn't poop on us for the next 2 yrs.

Did they explain this to guys on 1 yr contracts ? Management never did realize 1 yr contract guys might not be comfortable how they will be treated and that's where the team could be divided ?

Now since the dream of Lebron coming to NY is fleeting, what will they brain wash us with to pacify us with what they originally had us believe ?

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

All of this chatter is nonsense

the fact is Lebron James filed to change his number--he would only have to do that if he was going to remain with Cleveland. While it doesn't lock him into staying---anyone with 1/4 of a brain will not compute this as a positive development at a minimum.

Um, no it doesn't. You're just looking for ANYTHING to support your hope of LeBron James not coming here.

If Lebron had not filed the paperwork the press would be all over him about it. He did state he was going to change his number.

ANy scenario where he is not considering his options, which has to include Staying would be stupid by him. I think the natural tendancy is to be pessimistic and not think he is coming.

Well I don't think even the most ardant homer really considers him coming to New York anyting close to a done deal but approach it with excitement that it could happen.

THis is not some hoping Santa Claus is real or the tooth fairy "Lives" kind of thing, but we got the cap room and he has not shot down a thing yet.

Lebron can reup 3 years with an annual opt out and stretch it along if he wants.

My thinking is Lebron is happy in Cleveland for now and is winning. Why move now?

Someone's gotta be the crabby old dude on the porch saying "I told you it would never happen!!". IF Briggy wants to be that guy so be it. Everyone has his opinions.

I think you guys have an obsession bordering on the Twilight fans level. You guys obsess over any and everything Lebron does or says. Who the **** cares what his jersey number is or if he likes NY pizza vs Chicago pizza, I really think all this fawing is way over the top and this is all for a guy who hasn't even won a Championship.

Agreed. It's the equivalent of saying renewing a driver's license means I'm staying where I am no matter what

Yes it does. If he changes teams--he does not have to file the paperwork with the NBA--he can somply change the number.

Something to think about. #23 is retired in Miami as well.

On April 12, 2003, the Miami Heat retired his jersey, hanging it from the arena's rafters. As the Heat unveiled the half-Chicago Bulls, half-Wizards jersey, Riley said no Heat player will wear the number again.

"In honor of your greatness and for all you've done for the game of basketball - and not just the NBA, but for all the fans around the world - we want to honor you tonight and hang your jersey, No. 23, from the rafters," Riley said at midcourt. "No one will ever wear No. 23 for the Miami Heat. You're the best."

His jersey was the first the Heat has retired in their history.

This is so silly. If anyone thinks Lebron's focus RIGHT NOW is anything but the Cavs and being a Cav they do not have half a brain.

He will think about next year when its time. All this chatter is nonsense indeed.

Maybe he is tired about the FA questions

I really don't think Jordan should have his jersey retired throughout the league.

Jackie Robinson had that honor because he paved the way for different races, particularly blacks to play in the MLB. That impact is far greater and more important than winning MVPs and championship rings.

And if they are going to pay MJ that honor, I want to see them do the same for Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain, and probably one or two other guys as well.

Jackie Robinsons honor was beyond sports.... I hope most people simply don't listen to LeBron, but they probably will because he's as powerful as anyone in sports.

OK, so why doesn't LeBron James resign with Cleveland right now, today? That's because he doesn't know what he's going to do. As much as you might not like it, he WILL come to New York for a visit in July. And what King James feels right now on March 2nd is not what he'll feel in July. If Cleveland fails to win the Championship (they won't even make the Finals), I don't think James filing paper work to change his number will matter much in terms of his decision to resign there.

And the fact that the Heat honored him and by retiring both his wizards and Bulls jersey is dumb. He accomplished nothing as a Wizard.

So? LeBron James can easily say he plans on resigning with Cleveland on July 1st and is not interested in visiting any other city or team if he made up his mind like Briggs thinks he did.

I agree.

Jackie Robinson is on par with Martin Luther King in being such a strong agent for social change and a symbolic, historical figure.

Jordan was simply a marketing phenomenon and while he's unquestionably the greatest basketball player of all-time, its not like he is that much greater than Kobe and I think when its all said and done Lebron will have surpassed Jordan --- barring injury.

It also ignores that, by-and-large, Jordan is a pretty shytty human being. He generated a ton of cash. Thats it.
