I heard him lay the blame on Isiah's people but from my understanding he announced more than a year ago that he would be doing scouting personally along with his scouts rather than rely on video tapes like he had to do for the 2008 draft. This notion that he wasn't allow to bring in his people is not accurate because he brought in the guy from Orlando who he liked and two other guys from the Pacers. Mike had his brother available who he used in Phoenix to help scout talent as well. Seems like he is passing the buck for miss opportunities. Nothing new with Donnie when he tried to pass the buck about not getting Prince and taking Fred Jones instead. Those scouts were all his hires and begged him to take Tayshaun.

D'Antoni has a say in who we draft which is kind of scary. It was Isiah's choice to go with Fred over Tayshaun back then. Walsh usually backs his coaches in these situations.

Yeah, I know. I pointed that out to someone before when they didn't think Hill and TD were MDA picks. Walsh said going back to his Pacer days his coach has the final say but he overrule his scouts to go with Isiah's choice, the same way he overrule his scouts to go with Hill. I just thought passing the buck was just weak but I don't think too many people in the know believed it.

last year's draft made no sense to me then, nor did it to other posters. The story on that draft was that it was a weak draft but an incredibly deep PG draft. That turned out to be inaccurate. It was an incredibly deep draft as well as an incredibly deep PG draft. To have needed a point so bad and not selecting one is beyond indefensible

speaking of Jrue Holiday, he's having a real nice 1st half vs. the Magic right now on the NBA network... 15 pts. 4 assists in the 1st half.

all i know is i hope Donnie is going to do his due diligence this year & buy a late 1st round pick so he can draft himself a PG... sorry but Sergio Valente has not shown me that he can be the longterm answer, i view him more as a backup right now... i would seriously consider taking guys like Sherron Collins, Avery Bradley or Willie Warren w/a purchased late 1st round pick.

Would you consider Kalin Lucas, Kemba Walker or Corey Fisher if they came out early. I tink at least two of them will come out early due to the lack of point guards in this year's draft.

Damn, there were a million bomb ass PGs in the '09 draft and we couldnt get one of them? And this fool, Donnie, has the nerve to put this on Isiah's doorstep when he had been running things for over a year to that point?

Did Isiah's people make D'ivatoni gush over Hill calling him the next Amare?

And how does this account for the '08 draft? Walsh and El Diva clearly got the man they wanted in Gallo. It would have made more sense for there to have been a rougher transition given that this regime had just taken over. So how were they able to take the reigns and get the man they want in '08 but not '09?

What a couple of liars and backbiters.

Just looking at Walsh's draft record, you can tell this is the norm. For the most part, he likes to make safe picks and outside of Rik Smits, which was a gutsy move, and Antonio Davis, which was pure luck, I don't see any pick that makes me open my eyes.

He does have a history of being conservative but he does have it in him to take a chance....he did draft Bender and Al Harrington.

He was straight embarrassed in the '09 draft. Outworked and outclassed and he was listening to D'ivatoni too much.

Checking out the highlights. Young buck finished with 15 assists. He shot under 50% but was the moving the ball like crazy. CP3 really better watch his back.

Its official. Collison is official. Duke is no joke and either him or CP3 is leaving town because no way is this cat a backup.
