We have two championships and fantastic team back in the 70's and a few good teams in the 90s. Why wouldn't he go to LA. If the Lakers don't want to offer Bryant a long term extension and go the Lebron route. You have two All-Star big men lamar odom and Ron Artest. The Lakers have been in half of the nba finals in NBA history. What exactly is the selling point. The LA market is just as big. The weather in new york sucks and the taxes are embarrassing. Hell the clippers are a better destination. They are going to miss the playoffs and have another lottery selection to go with Davis, Kaman, Gordon and maybe Blake Griffin.
It only takes a short while to establish some history. And as much as we all want the guy playing with Gallo, Douglas, Curry and one other guy isn't very enticing.
Knicks with the exeption of 1968-1974 have a very lousy history as a matter of fact.
New York was the mecca in college when the NIT was the prestigius tournament and there were great teams in New York. Other great teams would come here to play. New york fans love basketball. THey were pretty good in the 1950's, sucked in the early 60's, late seventies, most of the 80's, top 10 in the 90's and clown like in the 00's.
Lakers are a storied franchise and Lebron could go. Why? Miken, to West-Baylor-Wilt-Kareem-Magic-Worthy-Shaq-Kobe-etc are all great players. Lakers are not just Kobe! Thats a great franchise. How and why they do it and we can't is beyond me.
Byron Scott is a lousy coach. Can't imagine they going to him.
If Kobe and Phil Jax go to clips I'll by a Clip Jersey. That would be a hoot.
If Buss wants showtime then there is something wrong with them.
