just curious, who is this quality 7 footer you're talking about that Amare plays with? Robin Lopez? he's OK but nowhere near his twin brother... if we gave Jordan Hill 19 mpg all year he could have put up similar numbers as he's putting up this season easily.

If you are talking stats then Lee is a better value. If you are talking about a player to build around, then Stoudemire and Bosh are much better options.

I don't want to build around any of them.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

there are other things bigs bring to the table such as drawing fouls and causing double (and sometimes triple) teams that completely collapse the oppossing defenses. as well as challenge shots - no stat for that but a hand is up and a shot is challenged. lee does not really do any of those things therefore he's not in the category of TBPFITG in bosh. then the next tier is a guy like randolph who does 2 of those things. you spend the extra $7 mil for that every time.

I completely agree with you. You have you Mings/Howards/Shaqs, then your Bosh/Stoudemires who are close to your Randolph/Boozers. Then you have your David Lees. This is not black and white, to a certain degree there is a crossover between the level of impact of these players.

What is "TBPFITG "?

duncan, god bless him, is now at a place where he is getting beat constantly by younger bigs and is no longer finishing at the rate he used to.

Is it you that keeps on pushing the multi-year Camby deal? He's coming off of a 6 year $57 million deal that was an albatross enough for Denver to trade him for nothing.

Unless its a key, core, All-Star player. Unless its LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Johnson... I don't see us offering a multi-year deal to anyone.

If guys like Grant Hill and Wallace are forced to sign short deals, why would Camby be given a 3 year deal? As an apology from the franchise?

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Question on this

If we signed David Lee for 6 yrs 60mm and saved 7 mm which helped us acquire Mark Gasol the following year--is it better money spent?

Briggs, come on buddy. Stop pining for these behemoth pivot men. That's not going to work in a pick and roll system, and especially not one that features Lee.

We'd need to get a 4 who can guard 5's to continue to feature Lee and become a contender.
