you would hope that these guys are being told to adjust things in practice... this would be a nice time for the staff to get these guys a mix of when they go to rim vs settling for long range shots. dg had a nice dunk recently doing just that, he needs to do that way more. seems so simple, even a caveman can do it.

You can talk about the age but I think Wilson has no feel for the game and Gallinari isnt very tough

just curious, how many games did D Lee help us win over his 1st 2 seasons in the NBA? ur comparing the rebounding prowess of players that aren't known for their rebounding against a guy who is? is that a fair comparison? should we point out how D Lee can't hit a 3 pointer or block a shot to save his life then? how tough was D Lee when he was 21 years old trying to make it in the NBA? i don't remember him getting into anyone's face or taking over a game in crunchtime & hitting game winning shots ever.

Don't know. Bill Bradley was a US senator and Willis Reed was fired from the Nets during their dark years. T-Mac just got to a new team. Maybe they just wanted to say something nice? Don't know.

is it really Lee fault he has played with a drunk point guard, and the coaches have played guys out of position all year? At least he will compete something Wilsona and Gallo fails to do every night. We had Gallo guarding Rondo the other night do you really think these coaches are trying to win. Pharezone fair enough on BB willis and tmac now explain Kobe, duncan, and Shaq guess they wanted to say something nice also

why does any of the "saying nice" stuff matter? while folks on this board may say stuff about lee, most i would think dont honestly dislike the guy. who can really complain about his offensive game at this point? folks just want to see the guy put the same effort into his d as he seems to for off. you are complaining about lee not being treated fairly in a thread questioning dg's drive...

there are plenty of posters who think wc has peaked or isnt very good. what can you do? wc/dg i am willing to wait on as they have a lot less service time than lee does. no arg from me with the coaching... they should be helping the young guys and they either arent doing a good job, or the young guys arent able to take lessons learned and apply them.

King, too many people are trying to be politically correct about the knicks. This is basketball, people need to call this situation with the knicks for what it really is.

That's what I'm saying. DLee has been getting knocks for making the all-star team over Bogut the last few days. I don't see king prompting to bring that point up. Mind you he wasn't elected by the fans or coaches in the league. Stern decided to give it to Lee. Is anyone going to tell me that they believe Jason Kidd played like an all-star this season?

As a big fan of DLee, you should be alarmed he has no effect on the Knicks winning...

how does this change the fact that his defense is **** in the post? david lee is a doorman in the paint. how do u bring up rebounding in comparison to a PF/C to a SG/SF??? makes no sense whatsoever.

Agreed.

I mean, they were nice bright spots on a crappy team, but that's just it: Bright spots on a crappy team.

And the two of them play some pretty crappy ball way too often.

They're both also inconsistent with it. Inconsistency kills teams. It's as bad as a player being in and out of lineups due to injuries. The effect is the same.

These two need to work on their games this offseason and come back strong next year. If they don't or they look the same next year then you can pretty much assume what you see is what they are.

They are 21 years old. No players peak at 21 or 22 years old. Give them time to develop.

Personally I have higher hopes for Gallo than someone like Chandler.

Chandler has a low basketball IQ and is too laid back to ever be a go-to guy.

Gallinari has all the tools. He just needs to work on his body - strength, especially in the legs. Once he does that and gets more aggressive then he'll be much better down the line. He's not a one trick pony scrub. When he puts it on the floor good things usually happen. Problem is that he rarely does it. He needs to work on his game. Unlike Chandler, he has the basketball IQ and can improve significantly.

I don't blindly support these players. I acknowledge they have their faults but I'm willing to give them time to develop, especially if we sign someone this summer.

Chandler has been and will be the best prospect on this sorry team since Ariza was traded. If you don't see that then there's no hope for you. Knock him all you want, but he's gotten much better even in the last couple of games and he's the best we've got. Might not be the best prospect in the world, but I'll take 10 Wilsons before I take a Gallo or a TD.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

You know what, I'm glad MD challenged Gallo like that. He needed to be called out - he's been invisible for a good stretch now (esp. since these new players came aboard), just sleepwalking through these games.. Finally MDA takes the kid gloves off a little bit with his prized student. A long time coming if you ask me...I mean come on Gallo, are you really gonna let Billy Walker come in here and take away your playing time like this?!?!?? You OK with that fella? Billy Walker??? This kid's playing with no energy, instead playing very satisfied and not very hungry...To his credit though he did respond pretty well last night and took it to the basket strong on a few occasions. KEEP IT UP NOW GODDAMNIT!!!!

I've talked about it before and I realize this isn't the most popular view around here, but I'd shop this kid in the off-season like nobody's business. I'd shop 'em all I guess but if I had a choice, I'd much rather shop Gallo and retain Wilson Chandler...If I got a chance to bring back a package that I deemed above-average for Gallo, something that would benefit the team, asta la pasta man - I'll be damned if I don't at least listen...I'll continue to be patient and continue to support the young man in the hopes that he eventually grows a pair of balls, develops a complete offensive game which by his own admission during all-star weekend with Craig Sager is still a work-in-progress, and by somehow strengthening his legs he finally turns into the elite-level talent we all thought we drafted...But let's all be honest with one another, this kid's just not big-time material at all. He's not nearly the overall versatile package I thought we drafted. You know how everyone kept saying Hill was raw -- well I think this kid's raw! I think the idea had to have been that by drafting this kid that high, he had what it takes to either eventually be the man or be a damn good number 2 guy....I don't see either -- I think he's a role player. I say we make a move before the cat's really outta the bag...No way do I give up on him for nothing but if some team out there likes him & puts a good offer on the table for him, whatever that might be, I'd be all ears. I defended this kid last year 'til the cows came home - but that's when he was hurt. Can't really defend him anymore now..No way is this kid untouchable in my book..

Amen I agree with everything your saying. Now if we get Lebron we trade Wilson and put Gallo in the corner and he can shoot threes. For the 6th pick in the draft I think we got a good three point shooter. This guy isnt Dirk by any stretch of the imagination.
