Hmm. They're going to have to play a little better than last night if they want to get past CLE.

No Paul Pierce.

Yea, but getting blown out by 20 having Rondo, KG, and Allen is just unacceptable.

boring prediction, but i think we're looking at Lakers v. Cavs. LBJ wins and bolts. Peep the quote.

LeBron on Ilgauskas:

"He knows I would love for him to be back here. I want him to be back here, especially while we're contending for a title," LeBron James said. "He's one of the main reasons why I want to win a title for this team."

"especially while we're contending for a title" ??????? As opposed to when LBJ leaves and they ain't contending for nothing but lottery odds.

"He's one of the main reasons why I want to win a title for this team." ??????? The other reason being so that you can say you did what you promised to do and now feel fine leaving.

it's all about matchups when u get to the playoffs... i think the Magic are a tough matchup for the Cavs & could very well come out of the East & have a good chance to beat the Lakers in the Finals.

I got my Dirk jersey ready for the playoffs!

I already got mine from 2006 but I buried it somewhere. If the mavs grow some balls I may dig it up again this spring. They are looking good so far. But It's only February.
I agree with you that Butler and Haywood and bring some grit to the mavs, and they are better on paper than the nuggets, Carmelo and all.
Incidentally, not sure if there was a thread about it or not, but i went to the all star game and met Carmelo, Tim Duncan and Kobe (Met as in came within an arm's length, enough to take pictures). My 2 sons are forever impressed by their dad

Mavs have won 8 games in a row....all since Hayward and Caron Butler joined the team. A great trade and now they are looking good to challenge the Lakers for the West title.

mavs have yet to recover from the 1-2 punch diddy and sjax gave them a few years ago. this is probably their most stacked and balanced squad since then. so we'll see what happens in the postseason but i don't think they are ready for primetime...plus their uniforms are wack.

I like the DEN over CLE pick too... Lakers are probably best but they have a lot of trouble dealing with the Nuggets

Yea and Josh Howard became a cancer and unreliable. Dallas had no one past Dirk and Terry (he's really just a good 6 man). So now adding a legit scorer in Butler, Dirk, and Terry has really changed the team's dynamic. I think the added defense is what makes them dangerous more than the added scoring. Dallas has always had legit scorers but never really had good defensive teams.

Last night they played the Bobcats after arriving just that morning at 4 AM struggled through a large portion of the game and Terry/Dirk turned it on late they win. Now if this was a year ago definite lost this year they're pulling these games.

Also what color is Toronto's uniforms again? Oh that's right Fuchsia

To be fair, they got rid of the purple 2 years ago. It's just red and black now.

Yeah, may as well get Figueroa Street ready for the parade from now.

Not that Denver was going to beat them anyway, but still.

If you're right, that's gonna be a real "Elvis has left the building" moment for Cleveland.

Lakers are not looking so hot on the road.
Mavs winners of 11 in a row without Demps, Haywood or Terry. They got the wolves, nets, knicks at home next 3 games.
That Roddy guy is impressive.

matchups... Bobcats are like 7-2 vs. the Lakers in their last 9 games... i have a feeling it will be the Magic vs. the Lakers in the NBA Finals this year, & Kobe will be the difference in that series making some huge shots like he always does... i think the Cavs & Mavs will give those teams a hard time in the Conference Finals tho.

Mavs-Nuggets and then the winner against the Lakers. 2 great series. I think either can take the Lakers this year, Kobe is not himself this season, his back, finger or soemthing is not right. And yes i will be rooting for the Mavs.

i'll be rooting for the Magic cuz i definitely don't want the Cavs making it to the Finals this year... plus i think Dwight is a genuinely nice kid & would like to see him win a chip... IMO he's 1 of the more underrated players in the NBA.
