Trading him isn't an option. We don't need his salary to make a trade we can absorb salary in trades. Get rid of him and cut his contract down a few mil in the process.
if he is really done and wants to retire we should resign him to a 3-4 year deal and get him to opt out. He waives the $12mm he's owed next year (its a player option) and we sign him to a deal worth $4mm,$5mm,$6mm,$3mm... something like that. Thats $18mm for getting out of bed. We release him in November unless he wants to play. You gotta hope and pray we can dom something like that
