I think giving up the 2012 pick was a bad idea, I was OK with Hill plus the SWAP. Now that the trade is made and people immediately decided Lebron is not coming here and we should have kept our draft picks. Can you guys explain what it is that you wish to accomplish with the draft picks?

You have a shot at drafting a franchise player? Good!. Are those players going to be better than Lebron and Wade? If ALL you ever get is a shot at a high draft (AND THAT IS ALL YOU WOULD EVER GET)why would you rather have that over a shot at Lebron and Wade? What is the rationale? We did this draft pick thing before with Ewing but as far as I can tell we didn't win any rings that way either.

Whatever route you go there are lots of risks and to criticize people for taking risks to obtain the absolute best in the business is pretty thick in my opinion. You want to compare this with what IT did, fine. If you think giving up draft picks for a shot at Lebron and Wade is the same as trading for Marbury and Curry then you are indicating you think Lebron/Wade and Marburyu/curry are at the same level. Otherwise you don't have a case. Yes its a gamble and so is going through the draft. There is a reason its called a LOTTERY. We could do what you guys have been suggesting and end up with 8-10th spot players for the next three years in a row. And then all of you would point fingers and start yelling at Walsh for not getting "value" for Jeffries and letting him expire. You can't win in NY can you?

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Speaking of clue, did any of us anticipate the standing ovations, the loud cheering everytime he touched the ball and the chanting "We Want TMAC!" that thundered throught out the garden? I thought the trade was all about the sumemr of the 2010? Yet know one told the paying customers at MSG.

They want something to cheer for. Guess that's part of being a fan?

He better just make smart moves with the cap space to acquire more draft picks.

after how Don Chaney got a contract extension after his team was playing like crap, i wouldn't put it past Dolan.

i think people are up in arms over the clear risk factor & the fact we really have no acceptable fallback plan now that the picks are gone other than signing 2nd & 3rd tier FA's that won't likely get us to a championship... pretty much that means we end up right back where we were before Isiah even took over Layden's mess... we're sick of the same old mistakes being made over & over & we're just worried that may happen again... no one is saying that having a shot at signing Lebron & Wade is a bad thing, but it's the heavy cost we paid w/o even knowing if those gys are coming here that has people worried... at least that's how i look at it... i would like nothing more than to be sitting here come July & praising Donnie Walsh for the risk he took in making this trade, but right now i have no idea what's going to happen & that makes me nervous.
