Thanks for posting the link. One thing I saw that makes me think he won't play for D'Antoni was this quote from the 2008 article. The one major concern that arose from this past weekend’s games is something that has always been an issue when talking about Walker: his emotions. It has been well documented that Walker is a fiery competitor, but also at times very unstable with how he handles himself on the court. The specific incident that triggered this response came when a minor altercation occurred between Walker and Brian Butch of Wisconsin in which Walker was pushed to the floor by Butch. While things didn’t escalate between the two players, Walker’s demeanor clearly changed after this, often clapping wildly on defense perhaps as a means of firing himself up even more. These issues can be a reason for concern for GM’s in today’s image conscious NBA.
You gotta be kidding me with that bull****. Why even type something so lame?
Only knocks on this kid is his knees and his jumpshot.....after two surgeries dude can still jump out the gym. He's one to watch and I don't mean by the tabloid police.
First of all this trade was made because D'Antoni did not want to deal with Nate not because Walker is such a tremendous prospect that the Knicks wanted him. Secondly the coach of the Knicks does not want to deal with anyone who does not display a level of character and compliance that requires him to be an authority figure. D'Antoni has talked about the playoffs all year but has chosen to give minutes to Duhon, Jeffries and Bender. The Knicks don't have AI because of D'Antoni yet he said he would play Satan to win. The Knicks may have passed on Jennings because he came off as a bit of a young punk before the draft. D'Antoni doesn't want anyone on his team that might cause him to have to an authoritarian coach. As far as Walker is concerned I had forgotten about him as a player and reread up on him. The fact that he has a character blemish is significant playing for this coach.
A guy pushes Walker to the ground...Walker doesn't retaliate and you say its a charecter issue cuz he used it to hype himself up and possibly rally his teamates??? that is the example you use to say he has charecter issues???
Well the dude had 2 ACL repairs and is still a high flyer...that to me means he is a hard worker. He hasn't had any issues in the media. No reports of conduct detrimental to the team at all...so where is his charecter issues...
anyway, we are talking about a dude that might not ever play a game for the Knicks...hope he does because the Knicks need a guy that has some adrenaline pumping in his veins....btw...d'antoni's problem is Nate is a shooting guard in a pg's body...if nate was 6'3 and up nobody would be complaining....Walker is a small fwd and a finisher. a little different role for the team.
