Two people who spoke to the Heat said LeBron James is clearly the outside free agent most coveted by the Heat, but Miami does not want to risk losing out on other targeted stars by waiting too long. Re-signing Dwyane Wade remains the No. 1 priority.

I'm not saying I'd do that. Obviously I'd do everything in my power to resign Dwayne Wade. However, if Wade bolted because he hated Miami or the direction of the team, and LeBron still wanted to sign, yes, you would have to do that.

My thinking is that they would already have an idea of what Wade is doing. So it's up to Lebron to make the quick decision as far as Miami is concern. If he is talking about taking the summer to weigh his options. Forget it.

I don't know if LeBron would do that though. That's another discussion though. Point is, Miami has to put a max offer on the table at 12 AM July 1st. Don't they have the space to give LeBron an offer too? It's not in the hands of Miami at that point. They will all have max offers from all the teams so the decision will be in their hands.

Yeah but their first priority is to make sure Wade is on board. You can't have multiple offers out there just a good faith thing.
