One source close to the situation confirmed to ESPN.com that landing McGrady with the Knicks before Thursday's 3 p.m. trading deadline is the goal, but the Rockets and Kings have a deal in the event that terms can't be reached that include New York.

Sources told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher that the Knicks would receive McGrady and Rodriguez in a three-team scenario.

If we get McGrady we arent getting rid of Jefferies in any deal with Sacremento or Houston.

Correct

Sac unloaded salary(not taking back)

Rox took on salary(not taking on anymore)

I believe this was done calculated by Morey to strong arm our GM. I believe he knew he had this as an ace in the hole, the whole time and was using the Bulls to drive the price up on our end. He got him to bite and very close to conclusion of deadline pulled this power move to still get what he wants, or if for nothing else.... more.

We should have been working on other ideas anyway.

Morey used us to get what he wanted from SacTown. He was probably the source of all those trade scenarios.

Well, I'm no Capologist or anything like that, but I can see how the Knicks could squeeze into this deal if Donnie WOULD WAKE HIS PUNK ASS UP!

The Rockets obviously arent going to be players in the 2010 free agent sweepstakes now that they've got Martin, so taking on Jeffries salary isnt as crucial. I could still see them being interested in grabbing Hill and a draft pick.

We have a gang of expirings we can throw Sac's way to get Sergio over here and satisfy the Kings.

When a team is over the cap they aren't paying Jefferies 14 million for next year.

When a team is dumping salary they aren't taking on Jefferies 7 million for next year.

It's over man they dont want Hill or the picks. They can now slide Ariza to SF where he belongs.

We shouldve just gave into Morey's demand. The pompous attitude of NYK Mgmt, allowed for a golden opportunity to slip away. We act as if we are "dealing" from a position of power! Well Morey showed who controls this situation. Hopefully we can sneak into this deal, and flip Jeffries elsewhere... This is crazy!

Didn't T-Mac's close circle state he was very fond of playing in the Garden or hopeful?

Well....

Tracy McGrady privately hopes to sign with Lakers or Cavaliers for the playoffs, according to a source close to him that spoke with Yahoo!

Danny Ferry has reportedly kept watch on the McGrady situation throughout the year, but it is not clear if they would be genuinely interested in adding him.

Yeah they do.

Houston's actually one of the more profitable franchises in the league so absorbing Jeffries salary in order to grab assets works for them. Besides, they probably feel they can flip Jeffries next year once his deal becomes an expiring.

If this was a done deal, why are the Kings and Rockets playing so coy? They are obviously waiting on the old man to rise from his slumber.

Cosmic and other poster's were right. These guys sources are BS.

I was listening on the radio and heard. Damn Morey is just that good. You have to give it up to him.

ESPN keeping NY involved for hits on their page. Adrian is the only guy I trust now and he says Knick deal is dead.

I dont care how rich Houston is they aren't paying the lux tax for Jared Jefferies. They just took on 10 million in salary man. Morey found Landry in the 2nd round. Do you think Hill is currently better than Landry? Next year they will be in the playoff hunt and Hill will be collecting splinters.

Why is Morey so good? Kings were desperate to dump Martin. Martin is paid like a superstar and so far has produced empty stats and clashed with one of the top rising talents in the league.

As soon as the Kings figured out that Martin/Evans combo wasn't compatible, Martin was sent out on the first thing smokin...

If I am Walsh, I'd be offering some combination of Hill, 1st rd picks 2011 and 2012, and expirings to Phoenix for Amare Stoudemire. We should of targeted him all along anyway!!!

Perhaps. We'll see. I, in no way believe in Hill so its tough for me to pump him up.

I suggested this before. If you believe that Lebron wants to play with Amare why go through a middle man. Trade for Amare.

Look at the events from last week with the rumored Butler and Haywood 3-way. It was reported Washington was waiting to hear back from Houston. Morey has been stalling all this time to get Martin who they wanted from the beginning.

It now makes sense why he was requesting 2 unprotected picks knowing full well it wasn't going to happen.

Daryl Morey is sinister.

I know Donnie has to feel pretty used right about now. That's if he is still up. He'll find out tomorrow.

If Kings move TMac to NY, it would be 4 same package Knicks were offering Houston: Jeffries, Hill, Hughes, picks.

That is pretty embarrassing to have report after report say that a deal was imminent or done, only to have the other team turn around and trade your guy right under your nose.
