Point is Lebron is coming to NYC. Whether that be 2010 or 2011 who cares.

Jamison has an awful contract as well. This is much better for us than Amare going there.

there's a theory going around that lebron wants to win one for cleveland before he feels comfortable leaving. this move somewhat lends creedence to that in my mind. this is a NOW move. and you have to believe bron had input.

2011 vs 2010 makes a big difference in our trading right now. If it is 2011 then there is no need to mortgage the future on the TMac trade....and especially swap 2011 picks. Just let Curry's and Jeffries salaries expire in 2011 and sign LeBron then assuming he is available and is wanting to come here.

LeBron Fueling Drive For Jamison

Feb 03, 2010 12:42 PM EST

LeBron James is the one driving Cleveland's pursuit of Jamison, according to a source, and Cavs GM Danny Ferry is attempting to appease his star.

The Wizards want a young asset in return and the Cavaliers have been reluctant to include J.J. Hickson.

I think for Cleveland to trade for Jamison, they got a commitment from Lebron to stay after this season. Jamison has 2 more years left on his contract after this year making $13.3 million in 2010-2011 and $15 mil 2011-12. They wouldn't, IMO, trade for Jamison and his long, expensive contract, unless Lebron committed to stay.

My guess is Lebron commited to accept his player option for next year!

That makes a lot of sense. Lebron may be a lot of things but I don't think anyone describe him as being douche with his team.

again, it doesn't matter who's on what team - that has ZERO bearing on whether lebron comes to ny or not. he will come b/c he wants to...to think jamison will prevent him from staying in cleveland is trivial. lebron treats his guys like family.

Amare would have probably kept Lebron in Cleveland. Jamison will have no impact on whether he stays or goes.

Seb. Lebron has been pushing management for two years to acquire Jamison why wouldn't that impact his staying in Cleveland?

but also when given the choice of jamison or amar'e he told management he wanted amar'e

I still can't believe that they didn't have to include Hickson.

:-(

Cleveland kept Hickson. FUCKKKKK.

That bastard Ferry probably has a wink wink deal with Kerr to trade Hickson and Jamison for Amare this summer. Just a FYI Oklahoma has the rights to the Suns pick so if they lost Amare that would have likely been a lottery pick.

where is that report? Because the only that had legs was him wanting Jamison. It looks like Amare and his agent were pushing a trade.

i'll try and find it for you, but like a week ago (maybe a little more) i had read that cleveland management asked lebron who he wanted and he said amar'e

actually i did find it.
http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/02/source-lebron-wants-stoudemire.php

According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, when LeBron James was presented with several trade proposals, he preferred the one that would put Amar'e Stoudemire on the Cavaliers. Earlier in the season, LeBron was hopeful that the Cavaliers would acquire Stephen Jackson in a trade. The Warriors and Cavaliers were unable to do a deal in that case, but the Cavs are believed to be in the hunt for Stoudemire.

According to the article, there have been no indications that Stoudemire and the Suns are "anywhere near" an agreement on a contract extension for Stoudemire, who could become a free agent this summer. Miami is reportedly going all-out to attempt to add Stoudemire, and sources say Stoudemire would prefer to play where it's warm.

he's said time again that his decision july 1 is going to be about him and his family.

there is absolutely no way lebron will opt in for one season with the lockout coming. he'll either sign a 5 year deal in NY or a 6 year deal in Cleveland.

i don't think his pushing for Jamison is anything more than a basketball decision - jamison's outside shooting opens things up for he and shaq inside. amare's inside game never worked with shaq. which raises the question - would the cavs have been better off NOT trading for Shaq and instead waiting on Amar'e? that may haunt them.

i think the Cavs front office has done a horrible job and it may cost them James. they have the best record, but that is ALL lebron. 3 of their starters are 34yrs or older. that's how you build around an impending free agent?

Lebron may not be on the phone but he is in that room when Ferry are making calls. If Hickson was the difference on getting a player that he wanted, they would have moved him. I always got the sense that him Jamison are tight and he likes his game. To me this is getting what your star asks for. Like I said I wished the Knicks would have did the same for Ewing.

if that's the case, why did the Cavs strike out so badly getting him stephen jackson?
