jazz74: You said exactly what I was going to say. When are Nets comming back to town? We have basically taken everyone the Nets traded away and now our team is definately better than the Nets team. The only reasonw e lost alst night was because Kidd dominated and that will never ever happen again! Stephon marbury is going to be the best player in the east! He will be the leader of this team!

Now we can keep re-sgn Kurt and sign Leon, Watch our backcourt stabilize for ever! We can seriously make a run for the east this year!! We just traded garbage for one of the best PG in the NBA!!!

wow, this is just AMAZING. Simply AMAZING.

Marbury, Houston, KVH, Thomas, Deke.

3 very good offensive players with 2 very good defensive big men.

Bench: Penny, FWill, Doleac, Anderson, OH.

Another article from out west: www.evtrib.com/index.php?sty=15340

Question: did KVH and Marbury play together before? And if they did, what was there history together like?

I am not trying to hear ANY bellyaching about this trade. This was better than ANYTHING LayDown EVER did.

Anyone who doesn't see the good in this trade can go sit the HELL down somewhere. This is a GOOD deal, and any real fan of this team knows it.

Starbury is a STAR. We need a REAL STAR. WE GOT ONE. He ALWAYS wanted to be a Knick. He'll play better here than anywhere else he's been since he's been in the NBA. He's a REAL NEW YORKER... Brooklyn representin', baby!!

Penny is solid off the bench, too. We are solid in all 5 positions...
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

More Detials: 1st round picks to Suns

The Knicks acquire Marbury and Penny Hardaway from Phoenix for Antonio McDyess, Howard Eisley, Charlie Ward, the rights to Milos Vujanic, two first-round draft picks, and cash, ESPN.com has learned.

The trade still requires NBA approval. The Suns will get the Knicks' first-round pick this year and a future conditional first-round pick.

The Knicks and Suns finalized a blockbuster trade Monday that will return Stephon Marbury to his hometown.

The trade will be the fourth of Marbury's career. The Brooklyn native was drafted by Milwaukee and immediately traded to Minnesota, where he subsequently forced a trade to New Jersey.

The Nets traded him to Phoenix for Jason Kidd, and he now could be headed to the Knicks in the first major move made by new team president Isiah Thomas.

The trade is a major shakeup of both teams. Phoenix, in exchange for its best player, would be gaining salary cap flexibility that would allow the Suns to rebuild a team that was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs last season after missing the postseason a year earlier.

The contracts of McDyess and Ward expire at the end of this season, and Ward has a buyout clause that can be exercised before Jan. 10.

Eisley is under contract for three more seasons; Vujanic, the starting point guard on the Yugoslavian team that won the 2002 World Championships, is playing in Europe.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Word is we are giving up FIRST ROUND PICK THIS YEAR AND A FUTURE CONDITIONAL 1ST ROUNDER. I'm not that thrilled with that. I would rather give up Sweetney than 1st rounders.

I think Thomas would have liked to give Sweetney too but the Suns are trying to get under the cap. Plus, Sweetney just looks horrible.

Thomas is da MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Layden eat s*it and die !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, the superstar we needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE JUST GOT A SUPERSTAR PLAYER FOR NOTHIN!!!!!!
Houston and Van Horn actually look good next to Marbury, we are like the young Bucks back in the day when they had Cassel, Big Dog and Allen, except that Marbrury is better then Cassel, Houston better then Allen, and Van Horn is better then Big Dog
AND
We have a PF and a C!!!!!!!!!
We are title bound baby, next year we are competing for the title sure, resign Thomas and keep Motombu, develop Sweetney and Lampe, this team finally has a bright future!!!
Marbury is signed for years!!!
We will have an all star PG for longer then we had a decent starting PG in the last 25 Years!
C - Motombu/Doleac
PF - Thomas/OH
SF - Van Horn/Anderson
SG - Houston/Penny
PG - STARBURY/Williams
That’s some team man, we are gonging places now. Just think about it, now when it’s a 3 pt game in the 4th we actually got a big time player who will take it to the other team, and you better not double team him because we got Houston and Van Horn to berry open jumpers.
I haven’t' felt this good about this team since 99 playoff run.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Wow - that's amazing! Ok we're giving up two first round picks, a european savior, a solid vet and a guy who still may come back and be a good player again but...

We're getting back a Super Talent!!

I would not have thought it was possible.

Steph and Van Horn have played together. Did not have a great relationship and Stephon said he didn't think Van Horn was tough enough to make it in NY after the trade for Spree. But... We'll worry about that later. For now I'm amazed. You never know how things will turn out but this guy has the talent.

dont worry about the draft picks. they are never going to be lottery again! they will all be #13 and over. we should be fine without them. the good thing is we just got the one thing this team really needed. The real offensive penetrater! This is the biggest trade I have seen in my life as a knick fan!! the BIGGEST!

Amazing that Marbury is a Knick - Penny is ok too but just a throw in basically. I am not happy about giving up the Picks - but hopefully they will win enough now that the picks wont be worth much. Vujanic - sorry to see him go but who needs him with Marbury here? JKidd better watch out now, I bet Marbury improves the Knicks like Kidd helped the Nets - only the Knicks will be better.

The Knicks now have a nice starting lineup - and I am glad to see Dyess go, as far as I am concerned he is McDone and has been for a long time.

Question is...can we get Sheed? I would love to see him in an NY uniform.

TWO FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICKS!? Now, I hope the Knicks do not make the playoffs, and Thomas will see how stupid he was to add two first round draft picks. I want that to blow up in him and Dolan's face! Ugh. The Knicks needed to get into the draft and get young players to mix in with the veterans.

Wow...are you a Nets fan? Why would a Knicks fan every say something like "I hope this blows up in Dolans and Zekes face?" You know this team needed a star, now it has one - the Knicks last star was Ewing and he was drafted in the 80's. Thomas helped this team out, it cost us but it would have either way - face losing for years or give up talent and get someone who can help you fill in the W's now. Gee thats a no brainer. He got proven skills for a bunch of wannabees with bad contracts, a european enigma and 2 draft picks that might be valuable but ould suck if the Knicks start winning.

We were all getting pumped up seeing what a creative, penetrating pg could do for our offense while Frank was starting. Now we've got the real deal. The Knicks now have excellent talent. We really do. And we have good balance, with a great, very good or good starter at every position and a very good, good or serviceable sub at everly slot.

Now the pressure's on Chaney to get it to meld, and quickly, so we can make a legit run in the playoffs and not have to start as a 7 or 8 seed.

I wrote an earlier post about players taken at the 6th draft position. There was no one close to as talented as Marbury. Marbury doesn't turn 27 till Feb. - so we did get younger. I'm not worried about the picks.

Penny was great - at one point Pippen compared him variably to Jordan. Haven't seen him much lately but even now I think he'll be a good backup two.

Our center powerforward positions can use a little re-enforcing but maybe DEKE can will his old body to produce more games like his last two.

Like I said not sure how it will turn out. But I'm happy.

Wow... now what happens if the Knicks don't make the playoffs?... and we just handed off a top 5 lottery pick?

Also... we're going to be reuniting one of the most unsuccess marriages in Nets history, Marbury and KVH.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Who gives a **** about the draft picks.... we are now one of the top three teams in the EAST.... and possibly a Kobe trade away from being the best.
If anyone knows of a SMART Knicks forum, with lots of activity, and minus people like PLAYA... holla at your boy.
