most of us have I assume.. greg monroe from georgetown was a hot commodity last year... not a very athletic big, but can pass the ball, doesn't dominate like he should, but is a real team player. If people get on gallo because he is passive, monroe will not be much better..

Evan turner is a nice player, a slick player, but honestly isn't that athlete chandler is and I am not so sure he will be a better player than chandler.. he pretty much is the same age as chandler(will be 22 in oct). I really don't see where he is that much better of a prospect...

but whatever......

Agree with you about Monroe. Have not seen him this year, though- has he gotten any stronger?

I was hoping that Turner would come out last year and we could get him. I would have taken him over Hill in a heartbeat. He is not the athlete Chandler is but is a more complete player, IMO, who also has leadership abilities. I see him as being similar to R.Hamilton.

Doubt that we end up with either of them, though.

monroe is puttin up better stats as a soph, though tkf is quite right i think... folks will crap all over him cuz he plays kinda soft and may pass up a shot before taking his own. its still possible its jt3's style and he is just doing what his coach says which could be a good thing.

Briggs there is no direction right now. Until we actually see who the team signs we can't say anything about direction. Geez we're in the process of trying to remake this team by adding BETTER players than we already have how can you be against that? Gallo, Chan & Hill aren't problems for us at all. IMO they all seem to have the kind of NBA skills we can use in the future. Add a couple of All Star level talents and we should have a great team.

no one's giving you a top 3 pick in this year's draft for Gallo or Wilson.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

funny... you were completely down on Greg Monroe when it was speculated he might declare last year. You said he was soft and passive.

Are you even aware of how often you flip flop on the players you comment on and start threads like this on?

I think he's the only one that doesn't see this. His flip flop on Jordan Hill was miraculous

I just hope that people will like me

I hope you're joking. Turner and Monroe are two of the premier players in College ball.

If it would give us room for two max players, I would do the same.

12 months ago Greg Monroe did not rebound or defend like he has this year. 12 months is a long time--I would suggest watching G town play and come back and tell me the difference. The reason why he wasnt in the draft last year was his soft play. He came out and has been aggressive all year[which he was not last year] his rebounding is up 35% and his post and passing game is up another two levels as well. I'm well aware that were not sniffing these players--number 1 because we over value Gallinari and number 2 if they didnt trade Chandler for Curry in the last draft--they arent moving him either. I'm saying if I could I would Knicks wont and most likley cant--they want 5 SF playing in the starting unit.

I'm with you Briggs, I hated Monroe as a prospect last year. He was invisible in most games. Now, he's all over the place. A legit big on both ends of the floor that can dribble the ball on the fast break? He's playing insane ball right now.

I watched Monroe in just two games he is playing really well. He can do just about anything right now. No way we can get him unless the Nets and Minny are trading their picks. Having said that if we give Duhon and TD to Minny they may do it, McHale has thing about PGs.

aS FAR as monroe goes. I saw him a couple of times this year. Didn't notice him getting any stronger this year.. still looks like the big man he was last year... His passing seems to get better for sure and he is already a good passer..

My recommendation would be to watch more GTown games if you don't notice the difference.

Last year he only scored within the offense, and now he's scoring at least half of his points on just his own moves or fast breaks.

Ok. so what does that have to do with him being physically stronger? which was my comment...

Getting Turner and Monroe would require getting a #3 and a #9 pick... so that's not going to happen anyway.

They turned down the pick that wouldve netted Steph Curry for WC---they arent trading Gallo for pick 1. We'll just have to accept they want 4 SF in the line up.

Gallo and Hill are just filler on any decent team. I'd jettison them every day of the week and twice on Sunday if it meant a decent shot to sign two MaxFA's to go with Chandler.

But you already traded all 3.

That said --- I wouldn't trade Gallo straight up for Ellis and I wouldn't package Hill and Chandler for Ellis.

That is foolishness considering Monta's contract.

You are too emotional & impatient Briggs -- you'd get killed as a GM (absolutely killed).

You also think every flashy looking college player will be the next Oscar Robertson.

BINGO!! I have said that so many times about briggs. And no harm, I understand he is passionate about the knicks, like all of us are, but briggs will sway back and forth so quick and often... If Briggs were a GM, you would make a killing catching him on a day his team loses.. LOL
