Like it or not, we have one of the best coaches in the game. "Tanking" next season is not an option coming off the last two.
The only way that would happen is if we don't get decent FA's and he just quits.
If Amar'e goes to Cleveland it makes this Summer's prospects more all-or-nothing than they were before. What I mean by that is without Amar'e you could at least try to make the argument that Wilson/Gallo/Hill could be a better goup of kids to surround yourself with than Hixon/Mo/Booby and LeBron maybe comes to the Knicks just for a change to a better market. With Amar'e, now its either, the Knicks get two major FA's, or LeBron's not coming.
The problem with looking forward to 2011 is that in that scenario, Lee is likely gone, and Wilson is definitely gone. People think you can just move it along another year without the equation changing... sorry, it really is 2010 or bust because we need to resign Wilson at the end of next year and while he's not getting max money, he's going to deserve better than the mid-level by that point.
If LeBron, Bosh, Wade, Amare and Johnson avoid New York, then Donnie's next move will be to make a lopsided trade where we take on salary from another team. In the irony of all ironies, ZBo and Craw could be targets in that scenario because of their expiring deals.
Alan Hahn:
Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)
