Houston gets some major help here....Washington gains some charecter guys...Knicks lose Jareds contract.

Best I can do...

Agreed here with poster assumption
Knicks stank so if we can unload Duhon, Jarred and Harrington for any combo of players & get even a 2010 pick
I'll be happy

I appreciate Jeffries improved play and some hunger on Defense but lets get real
Knicks ain't going nowhere with Jeffries , Harrington and especially Duhon all of whom wont be in NY next season 2010/11

at guys thinking the Wiz are taking back Jefferies. Lets be reasonable.

NYK gets: McGrady and Mike Miller

WAS gets: Harrington, Hughs, Milicic(Buyout), cash

HOU gets: Haywood, Butler, and Mike James

I checked it in the NBA Trade machine too. You could also remove Milicic and Miller and the deal would still work.

NY and WAS would essentially be juggling expirings. If this trade goes down we are obvisously still trying to make a playoff push.

Me neither. I'd take Butler over Harrington anyday.

How Likely is this trade, in your opinion??

Playing devils advocate....

If you the Wiz -- wouldn't you just deal directly with Houston and take McGrady & 1st round pick (vs. Harrington & Hughes)?

And if your Houston -- you'd prefer to deal directly with Houston and only move T-Mac and 1st --- rather then bringing NY into the deal and having to kick in Lowry as well.

Don't think Mike Miller is an expiring therefor your deal fails as Walsh won't take on the salary.

Again - why would the Rockets or Wiz need the Knicks.

If Houston is taking Haywood, Butler and James. Wiz could just take T-Mac and a #1 pick. That's a better deal then taking Al, Larry & Darko.

if the Wizards move Butler and Jamison, they actually will have close to max cap room. even with Arenas still on the books. that's incredible. they might move them, then. i still question why the knicks would be involved at all.

Butler and Haywood is way too much for McGrady. Washington should get something else from Houston.

Living Legend... Assuming I was the GM for the Wizards, and I were in position to make a deal.. YES, I'd opt for TMac, we are in agreement, but only because of his expiring and I think he'd help them get into a secure playoff spot.. However, in that scenario I doubt that the Wizards yield a 1st rd pick in return. Getting back lesser caliber talent, in terms of "name only" while surplanting a 20 ppg scorer w/ more punch and scoring could also be a huge benefit to the Wiz Brass both long and short term.

I thought of this trade based on Washington's reported "lack of interest" in Tracy McGrady... They see him as an aging player with a history of injury woes and ailments. Thus requiring a third team to be involved! Seeing today's yahoo.com reports made it even more intriguing to play GM. Honestly, my proposed hypothetical version of such a deal doesn't HAVE to include Kyle Lowry. In fact, a deal can be had without any other players being returned to the Knicks except for T-Mac, IMO. I just think that we need a playmaking point guard, one that can orchestrate and spell "Relief".. Pardon me, it actually should spell "Replace" instead for Duhon. Kyle Lowry is in no means a savior for our point guard situation, but im starting to see ANY PLAYER as an upgrade for our current BUM JUICE Floor General!??

JrZyHuStLa.. I agree, I feel like Butler will be moved. I was actually referring to MIKE MILLER. I cant see Washington trading away TWO WING Players, and a Big for marginal talent, even if they do get a potential 17-20 ppg scorer in Harrington and (salary relief at seasons end). Not to mention that as of late, Mike Miller has been pretty stellar in their offense... Playing Two Guard. If anything, he's a viable replacement for Caron Butler in the starting lineup.. It makes trading Caron Butler more plausible, but not both Miller and Butler. IMO

The reason they'd like the Knicks is because Houston cannot except 3 players for McGrady because they have too many guaranteed contracts. My proposal was just an initial framework. Cook and maybe Hayes would need to be sent to NYC. However by including those players Houston would be sending out 30+ million in salary so more players would need to be included.

Isn't T-mac's $23M coming off the books better than Al Harrington's $10 M coming off?

Only way this matches is with Larry Hughes + Harrington for T-Mac. I think...

Houston makes out the best with these trade scenarios. They give up TMac who isn't even playing for 2 players who will start and make them a strong playoff contender. Houston will have to give up a first round pick to Wash.

They also need to take on a 3rd player to balance salary. Butler and Hayward are NOT enough matching salary for TMac's $23,240,000 salary. So add Jeffries to Houston and Houston adds Chuck Hayes to Wash; Wash adds Mike James to Knicks.

Knicks trade: Harrington(Wash), Darko (to Wash), Nate(to Wash), Jeffries (to Houston),

Houston trades: TMac (to Knicks) + Chuck Hayes(to Wash) + 1st round to Wash

Wash trades: Butler(To Houston), Hayward(to Houston), James(to Knicks)

This trade works with trade checker.
