Maybe MDA and Walsh want a PG to be bigger than 6 feet 160 LBs. These slight guys flame out pretty quick as they can't handle the pounding. Jennings might grow into it, but you draft a player who has many of the attributes now. Even Nash is 6-3! if he is not, then neither is Jennings 6 foot.

I don't know exactly what point they want but Jennings fell in the draft for reasons at theat time.

Jennings should be a Knick, tho We're not making the playoffs, so there is nothing really at stake here.

I want this kid to make a statement if for no other reason than to prevent Walsh or whomever to think twice before they write off a kid prematurely.

Having Jennings come in and bust the ass of the Knicks is an investment in our future!

Honestly what does one players performance in one game mean? If Jennings does not play well should it change anyones opinion on if the Knicks should have drafted someone? Walsh has already stated very publicly that the Knicks probably made a mistake in passing on Jennings...I doubt tonights performance will change anything. I don't know if rooting for Jennings to kill the Knicks is anything more than people trying to feel good about themselves.

Nothin' like having the Garden faithful ooh and ahh just to drive the point home. Trust. One thing to see him do his thing on Sportscenter. Another to watch it live and in color.

And aint' nothing feel good about watching Duhon "play" the point this year. Nothing.

We drafted Hill!!

A talented Big Man.....

No moon walking here we choose Hill and as a Knick fan we should be rooting for Hill!

What makes Jennings so much better is his chance to play!

He is having a great rookie year but the Bucks are barely better then us.

If we did draft Jennings and were losing and Hill was drafted somewhere else and was getting
minutes you guys would be saying we made a mistake by taking Jennings!!! I think he is next Marbury
btw....... We choose a big with a good personality and a great RAW skill set!!

He is big enough to play in this league and has a ton of energy already!! That jumper of his
is already sweet for a Pf or C . I like Hill and his potential!!

Learn to root for your team and stop hating on everything this team does!!

KNICKS on the way UP!!!

So Jennings putting on a show will prove what? That he didn't get the BPA like he thought he was? So what?
Instead, you should be hoping that Hill puts on a show. But that wouldn't jive with your views does it.
Hill is not "urban" or "troubled" enough for your agenda.

I hope Jennings misses every shot he takes and turns it over plenty! He's not a Knick so when he's playing against us I want him to lose. He can look great against any other team but I want our team to beat him. Still too early to know if we blew it. Lots of guys burst out the gate like him and then go on to be just ok. We'll see what happens down the line. Here's to hoping Hill turns into 20/10/2!

Panos wrote:F Jennings. Seriously get over it. Its not like he was the obvious pick, and I challenge anyone to show evidence that said we should have picked him before the season started.

The guy that was high on our list was Tyreke Evans. In our workout Jennings held his own against him. That was our first clue. Second, our scouts thought good of him (but clearly not enough). Third, our position of need was pg first, though Center might even be more important as they are harder to find, but take longer to develop (which we are seeing).

I hope we get to see something great from Hill tonight, as you know what's going through his and a lot of peoples minds...

But, if you want evidence, well this is sports, hard to find evidence. The closest thing to evidence regarding Jennings would be his ranking coming out of high school. The Knicks simply didn't do their homework. Then again, maybe Hill turns into something special...

That's not the evidence I'm talking about.
I'm talking about evidence that anyone realized that we missed out on Jennings before the season started and he had some good games. Otherwise, its all spilled milk.

This is evidence (by definition) that was available to all the teams:

High school

In his senior year of high school, Jennings averaged 32.7 points, 7.4 assists, and 5.1 rebounds per game[2] and set the school record for points in a season. This performance earned him some of high school basketball’s most prestigious awards: the 2008 Naismith Prep Player of the Year Award, 2007–08 Gatorade Player of the Year (Virginia), 2008 Parade Magazine Player of the Year and 2008 EA Sports Player of the Year.

He led his 2006–2007 team to a 41–1 record and the top ranking in the USA Today Super 25 list of high school teams.[3]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandon_Jennings

And note, in that year he was away he was playing with grown men and not getting playing time. He still went tenth. We simply didn't do our homework.

He asked for evidence. Not, evidence in the year prior to the draft (when he wasn't playing). As little as he played he still went 10th! Do you think that is cause only Milwaukee had some secret information? No, they looked at what the kid did coming out and gave him a very very deep workout to see if he was legit.

Let's not confuse things though. I like Hill. I'm only posting the replies to show that "evidence" by definition existed. See, that is how many many Knicks fans knew about him (all those HS accolades). Not cause of what he did overseas (nothing), but cause he was on the cover of magazines because of his play and numerous awards. Maybe he amounts to nothing and doesn't put on weight but we didn'T do our HW (and other teams) that is the point. Walsh even said he didn't know much about the guy. Hey, with so many awards, he should have.

Again, Hill may be the better player. I have no complaints about the pick per say. But I have complaints about not giving Jennings more workouts. I have complaints about him not being scouted more, etc. The Knicks have no shortage of money, there is no excuse to go into the season with only one pg and a combo pg (who I like). This isn't on Walsh, as he trusted his scouts, clearly.

Apparently, you keep ignoring what I posted.
I said show me evidence that anyone thought that Walsh blew the pick and should have picked Jennings over Hill before the season started.
Perhaps my post was unclear.
