lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I was watching a replay of when JVG rode Mournings leg and his intensity on the court. I remember Moruning looking down in like disbelief over his "grip". Give Zo some credit for not killing the little dude. And Camby missing his right hook and instead nailing JVG?

JVG was a lot of things, but the dude was passionate about his job and worked his ass off. I admired his work ethic. Those late spring post game interviews with the can of Diet Coke and dark circles under his eyes was scarey stuff.

What you were really saying is vandummy was lucky(inherited vet team) grabbing ZO proved he was a nut job & Crazy and had to work harder than anyone else because his lack of knowledge on one side of the ball (offense). His physical appearance(RACOON EYES) showed he was over his head AS HEAD COACH and needed a break.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Damn, Playa. Imma make sure to never get on your bad side, because you just cant let a grudge go. You've been hating on Van Gundy since I got here in '02 and I have a feeling we're in for a long one with you and Gallo.

Chill, B.

We did get blown out by Miami in that Game 5. That's not exactly peaking.

In PlayaSpeak, I guess thats what I would have said if so translated.

Why do so many disregard great coaches because they have great players?

Riles got the Showtime Lakers as an assistant when Coach Mckinny broke his hip riding his bike. The lakes had won a title two years prior.

Eveyone rides Phil Jax cuz he had good teams, but no shyt, find a coach who wins championships without? But you can find lots of talented teams that did not win. We just forget them. They fall by the wayside.

I think JVG did a very good job and worked his ass off. No he did not win but neither did Riley with a simlilar group. You think it was bad coaching that did them in? They revolted at Nelson's idea's of opening up the offense the year before and the players rallied around JVG. If you like the players then understand they loved JVG and would run thru walls for him.

Knicks were tough but not talented enough to win a title. 1997 was maybe their best shot but the Bulls usually got out coached and out played by them. Who knows with a different dynamic.

JVG did beat the heat 4 of 5 playoff series against the Heat coached by Riley. The only loss was the aformentioned series. If playoff ball is any indicater then JVG was pretty good.

BTW playa, why not list some great coaches you like? We know what you don't like.

Weren't we up like 3-1 in that series before PJ Brown powerbombed Ward?

Yes and we should have ended that series in Game 5.

ewing was my favorite bball player of all time but zo was in my top 10. the guy busted his ass and achieved as much as he could with his limited skillset.

the heat were no more thugs than the knicks were a few years before. i remember starks clotheslining pippen on a drive to the basket like he was jake the snake roberts.

those were great games but the difference between the two teams was ewing just being better than zo. none of those games were blowouts and every game was intense.

97 sucked - it was a stupid rule that cost us back then...and it would've been our best team assembled to face jordan's crew. but twas not meant to be.

We were thugs no doubt. Riley had to make do with an offensively-challenged squad by playing thug ball and he just transferred that mindset to the Heat.

If I weren't a Knicks fan, I would have hated the '90s Knicks, too.

We should be complaining about our 1993 team. That was the best Knicks team of the Patrick Ewing era imo and we were robbed.
