To get either LeBron or Curry, I'd definitely trade Gallinari. No question about it. I'm with Ira -- I like Gallo too, but either scenario is a trade you definitely make and not even think twice about. Gallinari's not a guy you let hold up either deal.

Lebron's the best player in the world and we would lock him in 100% with this deal instead of all this 50/50 type speculation (at best) on whether or not he's coming. Then we could breathe easy and focus on planning the rest accordingly. Doubtful anything like this ever goes down but hey, you never know. Danny Ferry will really have his back up against the wall here soon. You'd think that if James ever gave any kind of indication that he wanted to leave, Ferry would have to go out and get something for him, no? And if LeBron ever narrowed down his choice (suppose he told Ferry behind the scenes, I'm going to NY -- either trade me now or I go there as a FA), Gallo would then be in play. He'd have to be..I don't see anything happening as the Cavs are built to win now and have a good chance to go far into the playoffs, possibly all the way (mostly thanks to James mind you) but hey who knows man.. Anything could happen here. Suppose they suffer a big injury here along the way - say Mo Williams or Shaq ever went down. Not wishing that mind you, but I'm just saying...What does Ferry do then? I wonder how Ferry feels about the whole situation. If I were a GM facing this situation, I'd almost have to sit down with my star and pick his brain to try and gauge the situation the best I could, you know? The last thing I'd ever want to see happen to me is losing my star player, the best player in the league, for absolutely nothing. I mean even in baseball, you lose your star in free agency, you get compensated with draft picks, you know? No such luck in the NBA and let's be honest, Ferry and the Cavs are facing the very real possibility of eventually losing this guy for nothing...If we did this, we'd even shed Gallo's $3.3 million dollar salary for next year, giving us even more money to play with - another element to this that should make it easy to swallow.. LeBron would fill Gallo's position too, so no problem there. I like Gallo, he's developing nicely, but to be brutally honest, I don't really see the signs of an eventually all-star or #1 guy here fellas. I don't even know if he'll even be that #2 guy, that 2nd banana to have next to a real star...He's a nice support player. Obvious all-star talent though? I just don't see any evidence to support that. I'd say his ceiling is Turkoglu/Toni Kukoc and like I said many times before, he's not nearly as smooth or as well-rounded as those guys. Great deep shooting stroke but there are many, many other times where the rest of his game just looks so damn awkward to me out there. I like him and I'll continue to support him & be patient with him in the hope that he'll continue to get stronger and his game eventually rounds out and becomes more diverse, but in order to get LeBron James tomorrow? Are you kidding me? I mean WTF are we talkin' about here? You pull the trigger in a heartbeat.

And I do it for Steph Curry as well. We need a PG -- a lead guard -- and this kid's proving right off the bat in his rookie year that he's special. He could definitely fit that bill for us. Plus he and LeBron are good friends. I think LeBron would like having this kid in the trenches with him every night. It would only improve our chances of landing the king...

If LeBron will hint he is going to NY and cavs will come to us looking for the trade why Walsh will entertainn this?
We can get (or not get) LeBron regardless as FA, so why trade anything for him?
LeBron and any other FA for this matter will come to NY only if tehy will have some kind of team in place. And Galo, Chan, and Lee are the only pieces we have to show.
If top 2 FA will conspare to join forces in NY, then we will look at how to accomodate it by moving some pieces or letting Lee go...
All this trades proposals are useless for us this year until the playing field is not set.

GS is not trading Curry for Lee. Lee is an Unrestricted Free Agent next year. Why would you give up anything for him? His tradevalue is low. Now, in a sign and trade, I still don't know if GS trades both Curry and Randolph for Lee but I guess it depends on what contract you take back. I really don't see that happening.

As much as it would hurt... I would make this trade in a second. It would balance out the roster.
Starters:
Randolph - C
Gallinari or Hill - PF
Lebron (Hopefully)- SF
Chandler - SG
Curry - PG

Chandler & Lebron could alternate at SG & SF

Hopefully we can trade Harrington before the Trade Deadline for some youth and/or picks from a contender to round out our future bench.

Holy optimism. Explain to me why GS trades two first round draft picks for David Lee?

It's not completely out of the realm of possibility.
Lee would be a MUCH MUCH better compliment to Biedrins in the middle.
Lee is a top player at his position and I think would excel even further at his natural position of PF with a legit 7 footer at center.

Not a likely trade scenario but definitely possible.

This thread is about trading Gallanari for Stephon Curry.

We need a pg in the worst way, if we think Lebron is really coming I believe he plays SF on any team he goes too.

I would trade the gall for Curry , because I want the knicks to be competitive at every position.

If people truly believe Lebron is a lock then gallanari is expendable.

I don't think G.S would trade anyone else on the knicks for Curry.

If Lebron lands on the Knicks we will need a good outside threat to keep defenses honest when they collapse on him when he drives in the paint.
Gallinari is the only reliable threat we have from the outside.

The inside outside game that they can play with Gallinari on the outside and Lebron on the inside with Lee as facilator in the middle would be deadly.

Curry is as much of a 3pt threat as Gallo. The ? on Curry is whether he can really operate an offense, but I think he the perfect PG to go with a point forward like James. All Curry needs to do is get the ball up the floor and then become a second shooting guard. If there is a deal available of Gallo for Curry, I think you need to make that trade. I don't see GS doing it.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You do not trade a player like Gallo!!

Knick fans always talk this DUMB ASSH HSIT!!!

Gallo is having a Rookie Year(basically his first year) a big man would die for in the NBA

He if you ask me is ahead of even Beasley as far a a total player..... Beasley can score yes
but Gallo all around has impressed me more.

Stats are very misleading 15 points a game 5 rebounds almost 2 assists 1 steal 1 block
Those numbers are even better then Chandlers yet Gallo does not Handle the ball anywhere
near as much as Beasley or Chandler.....

People say we should of took Brook Lopez and yes he is a stud player with dominant inside #'s
but again he gets way more touches then Gallo.

I believe that Gallo has only got half the chance he deserves... He has got the minutes to play
but along I'll never pass to Gallo punk assh Dudu , David I need to pat my stats for my pay day Lee
Jared my offense game just sucks Fishlips , I never saw a shot I didnt take Nate and Al and I need
to develop Wilson Chandler.....

Beasley is for sure second or at worst 3rd option on his team....... Lopez for sure is first option
on his squad Gallo at best is our 4th option but I say he has been more like 5th option Lee Al Chandler Nate
all def get more attempts when there on the floor then Gallo does..... Seen games Dudu and Bender were getting
the rock more then Gallo....... Yet the Kid (21 for God sakes) gets his every game

He might have off nights and that is to be expected from a young player I mean didn't Kobe have off nights
as a young Player? Dirk? Durant? Jermaine O'Neil didnt even play his first 4 years...... Mcgrady was nonexistant
first year..... Bargani sucked 2 years ago....... I can name many more examples but think you get the point.

Gallo has special gifts few Big Men in the game have....... Shoots as good as any big ( who was the last first
year player to lead NBA in 3's?) has great handle for a big ...... Has a great BB IQ ( which you can't teach btw)
Great passer... Good rebounder ( has him playing perimeter players so those stats go down).....He plays
D better then anyone other then Fishlips on this team .....Proven in a short time to be the most Clutch player
we have with minimal chances on both D and offense mind you

Yet people still talk about would you trade him

Come on!!! NO!!!!!!!!

Curry looks like a great player but truthfully I prefer Rubio at the PG if we are gonna pursue a top
notch upgrade at the 1

That being said not even for Rubio do you trade Gallo... Gallo is our best player ...... Someone you keep
and build around ! You do not trade players like him!!

And Lebron does not play Gallo position ..... Gallo is a 7 footer who can shoot like rain
Lebron goes to the rack and shoots when open or he needs to put it up....

Lebron will avg 5 assists a game just off Gallo threes next year!!

KNICKS on the way UP!!!

i wouldn't trade Gallo for Curry... i'd only trade Gallo for an established star in his prime, which Curry is neither.

It's an intereting ? But if add Lebron it's already proven you don't need a great PG. TD is more than capable of bringing it up and I believe his offense will be good enough too. He's bound to improve a bit as he gets more minutes. To be honest I think we're in much better shape than it seems IF you can get Lebron. He does so much that it makes everyone better. To Be honest if he's on this current roster we're top 5 in the East! I bet Gallo, Chan, Hill n TD would be a playoff team right now even tho Hill n TD are Rooks! They'd play so much better with a leader like Lebron.

Seb , what I meant was if Lebron is coming would we trade Gallo for a pg like Stephon Curry

oh ok...um, naw I wouldnt trade Gallo for just a need because he really has to chance to be a special player.

I just don't see it, we have fallen so far the 3 ball has become our passion. Where are my 90's knicks fans ?

I dont get your point. Gallo is actually a decent defender. David Lee is the problem and I feel his consistent poor play on D has been a common denominator in our lack of success the past couple of years. Good talent and a good guy, but his lack of D is too much. Porous D in the paint has been killing us...

We have elevated the 3 ball because of danphoney, this isn't what knicks fans of the 90's got hyped about.

Gallo leads the league in 3 ball and he's untradeable according to knicks fans..

Would the knicks trade Gallanari to get Lebron ?
