Consequently, Nate should be elevated to starting PG. He has enough firepower that he has to be respected and is enough of a defensive pest that he won't be overrun. This Duhon experiment should be winding down.

For the minimum, it's a no brainer. As a lead dog, he sucks. As much as I hate Duhon, Nate is not a good replacement, he is a scoring guard. Donnie needs to trade for a decent pg.

13 assists, 0 turnovers tonight... currently 6th in the NBA in ast/to ratio & 11th in the NBA in ast/game average.

& people think Duhon will be available for the veterans minimum?

His minutes per game are pretty good too... unfortunately, those stats alone don't make a player good. His Player Efficiency Rating is not in the top 20 for PGs (Nate Robinson, however, is in the top 20). Duhon is a questionable backup PG at best. How much do you pay a borderline backup PG? If the Knicks don't resign him (and I hope they don't) he is out of the league in 2-3 years.

it all depends on what your team's needs are... if you're a team with go to scorers & just need someone to orchestrate the offense, he can be a valuable commodity... you telling me he's not better than scrubs like Anthony Carter & old washed up veterans like Lindsey Hunter? IMO he'll get around what Sebastian Telfair's making now, about half the MLE.

If he played defense, I might agree with you. Many teams can play well with a non-scoring playmaker at the PG. Unfortunately, every team needs 5 defenders. I don't see Duhon doing that.

You know I gonna spin wit it

if we had a legitimate go to scorer on this team, then having Duhon as your starting PG wouldn't be an issue... he's not a stellar defender but he has been giving forth more of an effort on defense in recent games i've noticed... he hasn't let his struggles w/his shooting effect his defense or orchestrating like he was doing earlier in the season when he would go into shutdown mode... our problem is we have a PG that doesn't score & a F that doesn't score taking up 2 thirds of our starting 5... Duhon is an effective orchestrator of the ball & is the best passing G we have on this team... i'd much rather have him starting right now than Toney Douglas, who really hasn't distinguished himself at all as much more than a backup undersized SG to me... Duhon should definitely be a backup PG, but he's worth more than a veteran's minimum contract IMO.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.
