--->The lakers do not scare me. Without Gasol, they are below average. Kobe or no Kobe.
[/quote]

We just had trouble splitting a H-H with Detroit missing it's 3 best players. We were losing to LA by 30 out there. We can only hope that the B-B will hurt them because the match up is very bad for us at every position.

The Answer Man Never Walked Through The VIP Entrance At Staples Center But His Favorite Section At The Garden Is 322

djsu - lakers play cavs tonight in cleveland. so the knicks will luck out and get a tired lakers team tomorrow.

The Lakers are not happy campers after Bron did his thing... expect them to take it out on the Knicks if room service at the Hyatt Regency, next to Grand Central Station, is slow.

Q. Chaos - Will DamPhoney play Darko to combat Bynum's size?

A. No. Have you been paying attention? Darko is sitting at Kennedy waiting on his flight to Prague.

Q. Chaos - Will DamFool play TD to help stop PG penetration?

A. Why do you insist on the juvenile names? Toney Douglas is not in the rotation. Expect Nate to enter with Jordan Hill at the 8 minute mark of the first quarter. If the Lakers jump out to a big lead, just once... I would dig D'Antoni ripping a page out of Red Holzman's yellow pad and substitute all the starters to send a message. When Red pulled Clyde and Willis you KNEW they got the message.

Q. Chaos - Will DamNation play Hill to pull Bynum away from the basket or post up and defend Gasol?

A. You funny. Your fantasy basketball strategy is hilarious. Notice that I didn't refer to you as K-ass.

The hell with the Lakers can we just have the Laker Girls play basketball for two and a half hours? Or wrestle each other? Or wrestle me?

We haven't played in four days. They've played four out of five nights I think.

Yet you know that Kobe and Gasol are up for playing at MSG. So maybe it won't be enough of an advantage for us. Besides, all NBA players will tell you that they prefer to play every other night. Not playing for 3+ days is as bad as playing back to back. NBA game shape is an amazing thing. You lose it when you take just a couple of nights off.

The Knicks do not match up favorably with the Lakers with regard to:

- the relative skill sets of starters, if The Mayor gets Kobe, who is checking Ron Artest?

- depth of quality talent, Derek Fisher v Nate might be fun to watch if Nate is on. If Nate is off it will be a long night.

- experience in winning, see banners. Phil Jackson doesn't wnat to attend the NYK '70 reunion? sup?

- frontcourt size, Queens homeboy Lamar Odom is just too quick for Gallo but Jordan Hill v Gasol could be a teachable moment

The best that can be hoped for is a sincere defensive effort for 48 minutes.

First Knicks player to dive after a loose ball receives a round of applause.

First Knicks player to dive into celebrity row after a loose ball is cheered loudly and makes SportsCenter.

First Knicks player to dive head-first over the scorers table after a loose ball receives a standing ovation.

What Would Derek Jeter Do?

orangeblob - c'mon man

You, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, The Answer Man and everyone fan who follows basketball knows the only way the Knicks defeat the Lakers is with an extraordinary effort. What better way to express that effort than by diving after a stray basketball?

It is evidence of intensity, hustle and is the best expression of human sacrifice in the sport. It gets the crowd hype. Who didn't love Oak diving after a stray pass, into the arms of someone sipping a beer?

If Chris Duhon wants to be the de-facto captain, he better get some floor burns tonight.

The Lakers went 0-2 against Orlando in the regular season last year. It really doesn't mean that much.

Lately, it seems the only captain Chris Duhon is familiar with is Captain Morgan.

The Answer Man Has His Car Towed

Q. Chaos - why so much anger?

A. Even The normally classy and calm, mild-mannered Answer Man has his limits. $170 for towing? Are you freakin' kiddin' me?

Kobe's last 7 games.

20pts a game
38% FG
30% 3FG

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

now image if playa created a poll and asked if Kobe was really a good shooter and asked us to watch THOSE 7 games. Would we come to any type of good conclusion?

"Closer"/"Clutch" numbers.
We will see if age is starting to catch up with Kobe later on this year, when his finger heals. But right now, he is not doing very good.
