How does Arenas make us a contender this season?

He won't be allowed to play basketball until March 26th by the NBA.

Then he will likely be sentenced to at least 30 days in jail if not more right up to 6 months!

Then he will be suspended and fined again by the league.

He won't play basketball again this season.

Meanwhile, why would we even consider killing our future cap for an injury prone ball dominant chucker with the mind of a child?

Come'on guys, THINK! Think it through!

Arenas is the NYK Jamal Crawful + Free Throws + a horrible attitude!

Yet, all that said, I am quite confident we WILL NOT trade for him. Donnie was just being courteous as usual. Playing the politics game of good guy.

Hibatchi.... I would do it for Curry and JJ. He's a great player, and even if he lost a step he WOULD be the next Steve Nash. Doesnt need to be the high flyer... rather a more typical PG.

My god... 2010
pg Arenas
sg Chandler
sf Lebron
pf Gallo
c Lee
If Hill really plays to his size... that is a 6'10 long athletic banger who could give you size and 30 minutes off the bench than thats a 60 win team coached by MDA. With Arena's and Gallo's shooting (Chandler and Lee have pretty good range too) there is no way to defend that team.

Or we can throw money at Jordan Farmer, or bring back Duhon.

This city would embrace and love Arenas. Sorry... but Gilbert's baggage doesnt sniff Sprewell's and he was one of the most popular Knicks. Ever

he has never played as a typical pg, and he plays ZERO d. he is a ball hog sg, who masquerades as a pg.

Why are we even discussing this? Didn't Walsh and MDA already set the expectations? NO LOSERS ALLOWED

I really am tired of adding players with mental issues, but Arenas has the kind of offensive prowess that could make this team really dangerous. Also it might make adding Lebron more possible. We'd have a serious level of talent on the roster for him to consider joining. it's just hard to quantify the risk. What if you add him and don't get Lebron? Would it still be worth it?

Also could you perhaps go younger and try to get a guy like Monta Ellis instead and at least he'd be a better fit for the future if you didn't get Lebron.

The ends just doesn't justify the means. Moreover, would you want Nate ANYWHERE near Gil?

Ballhogging 40% chucking mess of an offense while playing "pranks" that teammates have been tired of for years and have now put a felony on your record is "Offensive Prowess that can make this team really dangerous."

???????

My god man what world are we living in here. Yeah, he is offensive. In many ways. As in he's a chucking idiot that doesn't win cause he screws up teams with his chucking. Dangerous? Yeah. Dangerous alright. He thinks it's cool to play with guns. Then mock everyone who thinks it's not right!

Jeez!!!!!!!

I can't begin to understand where some of you stand when you make these observations!

Would you do the trade if they sent us Arenas + Foye + 2010 1st for Jeffries + Curry + Nate + 2012 1st and 3mil?

NO. And I will tell you why I feel that way so emphatically.

Jeffries and Curry become very attractive February 2011 trade assets if needed - OR - give us massive 2011 cap space.

This on top of course our fairy tale 2010 offseason of landing LeBron and NOT overpaying for Lee to just pay someone for the sake of paying someone - but even so - it doesnt touch 2011.

So you land LeBron in 2010. And use your capspace in 2011 to surround him with a great team. This is FAR better than grabbing Arenas to shoot 40%, play jokes on teammates with guns or by crapping in their shoes, blogging worse than a 7 year old, and ballhogging so badly that any other good player you have never sees the ball.

NO!!!!!!!

Arenas was never a great player. He had some high point outbursts. He had some good months. But overall the guy was as bad as Crawford was in NY. Just add 10FTs per game and that's where you get his PPG over Crawford's. Not to mention his disastrous attitude!

NO THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd only want Arenas if we had LeBron. He's the type of talent who I think would prove better if he had a clear superstar to defer to. When Arenas thinks he's the team's star player, he jacks up 22+ shots at 40-42% efficiency.

Without LeBron though, Arenas would just tie up our 2011 cap space for another 2 years for a flawed SG.

Why? So he can break plays and go Hibachi and chuck at 40-43% while LeBron gives that "why did you do that" look?

Come'on.

Arenas is one of the most overrated players of the past few years.

He's a mental case gunner that can't win ****.

Anyone really look over his game logs in depth?

Give it a shot and come back and tell me this guy is worth it.

If you do and say it's worth it then you don't want to win games or do more than make the 1st round of the playoffs.

EVERY SINGLE FAN of EVERY SINGLE TEAM should think *PASS* when the topic is Gilbert Arenass.

You get sold on talent too easily. You cannot possibly have already forgotten how Starbury worked out for us? What makes you think Gilbert Arenas is going to any different. Its only a matter of time before he sees the "light".

Agree completely just wanted to add that Crawford had far better attitude and was very coachable. I would rather have him back than have Arenas, but I don't want either of them especially not Agent Zero.

With his baggage and the money he his owed, it would be suicide to trade for him. I dont care if they're willing to take Curry, Jeffries, Dolan, beat Howard Eisley's ass...I dont care, no.

Its not even taking into account that ol' Hibachi is coming off a major knee injury. C'mon now.

seriously, WTF is Walsh thinking even considering this option? Gilbert Arenas has 1 of the worst contracts in the game, he's a career knucklehead, a chucker & bad for lockerroom chemistry... & now add 2 past gun offenses to his stellar resume... if Walsh makes this trade he ought to be fired.

desperation blurs people's viewpoints... we've sucked so bad for so long that some guys are ready to jump on anything that comes our way & proclaim him as our savior... we saw the same excitement when we went & got Stephon Marbury & Zach Randolph... i was a part of the 1st bandwagon, really felt Marbs could help improve this team... obvious learned my lesson since... getting Zach was a stupid idea from the very beginning.

Im predicting Arenas to Golden State after his contract is voided. Pleading to the felony is going to end up with that contract being voided.

he's not a team cancer in the Marbury mold, but he obviously rubs some people the wrong way on his team... he had a past beef w/Caron Butler & tried to single him out as not being a leader on the Wizards... Butler didn't appreciate that comment & they had a talk about it... & now this latest thing w/Crittenton... if that's how Arenas thinks a leader should act, he needs to get a serious reality check.
