The team is competing for a playoff spot. One they've made no ground up on in a long time still being 1.5 games out.
They are very lucky to have escaped with that 1 point win over Philly, who only has 12 wins. Lucky that Carney went cold in the 4th from 3pt range.
Philly and Knicks played a game of who can lose first....not who can win. Other than putting another win on the board that game was actually a negative to the team's supposed turning of the corner.
We must win tonight or we're 2 games back again.
This is why weeks ago when some felt "Hey, we're only 2 games back!" I tried to suggest what that really meant.
Well, now we see.
The 6,7,8 seeds in the East have now won 7 of their last 10 games. The Knicks have won 5 of their last 10 games.
We LOST ground despite our overall 15-13 record over the last 28 games!
This is why it's so tricky.
Now the Raptors tonight. And the weak part of our season schedule is coming to a close. Once we get into February it's more of an "average" schedule. March into early April, with two combined road trips of 12 out of 13 on the road, could kill us in a HURRY.
...The DEATH of the Knicks playoff run of 09/10 ends with THIS!
