14 points on 42 percent shooting with 5 boards, 1 block, 1 steal and 1.5 assists in 31 minutes is a nice line but not incredible, especially under D'Antoni. People are expecting much more from Griffin.
Taking into account that Griffin's injury affects the most important part of his game, his explosiveness, and I think there is a lot to worry about with him.

yeah, i have to agree, a ton of Griffin's game is predicated on his athleticism & explosiveness... this type of injury can potentially severely affect his game... Gallo's game is about shooting so not as much as long as his back is loose enough for him to be out there to begin with... Griffin can still have a nice career in the NBA even if he loses his explosiveness a-la Larry Johnson, but he won't realize his full potential unless he can come back from this with it largely intact... just goes to show how thin of a line it is from being a shoe in bluechip star prospect to a bust potential prospect in professional sports... all it takes is 1 injury to completely derail your career... hopefully that's not the case w/Blake... he seems like a genuinely good kid who has worked his ass off to get to where he is now.
