no doubt, if Crittenton did load his gun & threatened Arenas with it, he deserves to be banned from the league for good... absolutely no place in sports or any other place of work for that kinda behavior.

Yeah, thats it!! Guns dont kill people, executives with a consience kill people. 5-0 just needed an excuse to blame it on Arenas. Yeah, yeah, somebody call Al Sharpton!! Lets start a Free Gil campaign!

Seriously?

Al Sharpton has called for a very harsh punishment for Arenas. I think you are stereotyping him.

Either you totally missed my point on a truly global scale, or your humour is excellently suble. Assuming the best in all people, kudos.

I blame it all on the man. The man must be furious that I am stereotyping him.

Perhaps your point was not made very well Firefly?

I, assuming the best in all people, will choose to believe that you missed Al Sharpton's public denouncement of Arenas' behavior and his plea to David Stern to punish Arenas, and therefore erroneously included him in your point.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

Bless. Your charity touches me in ways I wouldnt like to recount in public. My point, however missed it may have been by you was indeed well made, as can be proven by the fact that the person it was aimed at understood it quite succinctly.

But if I must explain it for you, I will. OBM, tender soul that he is, made a misguided attempt to place the blame of this entire situation at the feet of well-meaning executives in the Wizards front office, by claiming that this was a put-up job by some "snitch" in the lockerroom designed to dispose of Gilbert Arenas. My response, which I felt contained just the right amount of both sarcasm and incredulity, belittled his theory as not only insane but also morally irresponsible. My use of the slang "5-0" was to point out to OBM that his theory sounded like it had been concocted by some crack-dealing gangbanger and my reference to Al Sharpton was a hat-tip to all the causes Rev. Sharpton champions and showed my derision that supportng Gilbert Arenas in this story is something he or anyone in their right mind would do.

I am glad and not in the least surprised that Al Sharpton has decried Arenas' behaviour. If you need further elucidation, please let me know.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?

I thought it was so arrogant of them to trade the fifth pick because they thought that player wouldn't have been able to help them. they had such hopes.

when they started the year off so poorly, I thought there was at least one team worse off as far as talent and cap.

they'd be lucky to get out of arenas contract, and if he were banned or suspended, not sure how I would feel about the wiz gettng a get out of jail free card when we have had to live with so many mistakes ourselves.

Ernie Grunfeld is still the team President.

i agree, if the Wizards are allowed to void this contract i think it's bullsh!t... they should be allowed to suspend him w/o pay, but that money should not come off their cap, cuz that's not fair to every other team in the NBA the Knicks that repeatedly shelled out big bucks to a knuckleheaded players or traded for them & ended up regretting it later.

they should offer up Jamison, Butler & Foye to HOU for T-Mac, Aaron Brooks, Carl Landry, Chase Budinger & their 1st round pick

if WAS can void out Arenas' contract, they'd have maximum flexibility cap wise & a fresh start w/some very good young players after cleaning house of all the big money veterans... HOU would gain 3 veterans who gives them tremendous upgrades in talent & guys to matchup better with the competition in the WC for the playoff stretch run.

They look exaclty how the knicks look after signimg Allan houston except faster. I do not consider (at all) Jamison, and Butler to be all stars. Making one or two all star appearnce's just cause your hot at the time doesnt exactly give them that title when your refering to them.

If they wanted to rebuild they would have kept there pick and save the cap space for next season

Jamison is 20 & 8 for his career & this season he's putting up 22 & 8... those are Allstar calibre #'s in my eyes... Butler's stats have dipped a bit this season but he had back to back 20ppg seasons prior... if u consider David Lee to be an Allstar calibre player i find it hard to say these 2 guys are not.

apparently the plan was to compete this season otherwise they wouldn't have traded away their lottery pick... last year they were hit with a ton of injuries which accounted much for their crappy record... this season they were looking forward to getting Arenas back healthy & the big 3 back in action & added a nice reserve G in Foye who could contribute right now... they couldn't have projected the disaster to follow w/Arenas' stupidity & the internal strife that's going on w/the franchise with the owner passing away & players butting heads in the lockerroom.
