I am not really bothered by his comments. As a rookie, you have to wait your turn and Landry plays a different position. That being said, Hill is a little too laid back in his approach on the court. He needs to be more aggressive and forceful when he comes in. Hopefully, with experience and a few more pounds, he can start imposing his will on the opposing team. The kid has a ton of talent. He already is a better outside shooter than Lee, and he is more of a defensive presence than any of our other big men outside of Jeffries. Plus, he has 2-3 fairly competent post moves. If he can become more assertive on the court and add some pounds, he will be a solid PF. I am anxious to see his development over the summer.

I've heard that Hill has a terrible work ethic in practice. It was only recently that one single reporter said otherwise wasn't it?

Aside from what we don't see behind closed doors...when you see Jordan Hill on the bench...you see a guy that is just entirely disinterested. His shining moment as a Knick was running onto the court to leap into the air to bump Nate Robinson during OT of the Hawks game. I mean the guy sits there. Doesn't even look at his teammates, doesn't get in the huddle during timeouts. It's like he's some random fan that got a good seat to a game that he has no desire to attend.

I just don't see it with this guy.

I still think he should be getting burn but I don't see anything there. Hell, Jackie Butler was far more exciting to watch than him. That....isn't a good thing. At all.

Then you throw in Donnie blasting his own scouts for telling him to pick Hill and missing out on Jennings (who really isn't all that IMO) and it's just not a good look at all.

When a sub-.500 team can't find a reason to give their lotto pick burn - when damn near every other team regardless of record has given their lotto pick burn - it doesn't look good at all.

Bottom line is Jordan Hill is apparently useless in practice and therefore pegged as being useless for an actual game. Otherwise...he'd be playing.

Proof in the pudding as they say and this go around the pudding is playing time on a sub .500 team. He doesn't play. He doesn't play on a team loaded with garbage. That should be proof enough. Then you throw in his horrible demeanor and you have your answer.

He sucks.

where did u hear Hill's work ethic sucks? i've seen him develop his game in college & drastically improve every year while working under 3 different head coaches... that to me says alot about his personal resolve & desire to improve even through adverse conditions... i've seen Jordan Hill work hard in games at Arizona & put up some very good numbers... i've seen Jordan Hill be very active on the floor everytime he's been given a chance as a NY Knick... i've only heard MDA talk about him working hard w/the coaching staff & that he's shown good things in practice... i've only heard Donnie Walsh say good things about Jordan Hill working hard to improve his game since he's been here... but somehow you've come to this conclusion that he's a lazy POS that sucks... just because a rookie isn't seeing minutes doesn't mean he's lazy... Toney Douglas isn't playing either, i guess u also think he's a lazy POS that sucks? i don't get your line of thinking here... things aren't as simplistic as you wanna make them out to be... u really think the reason scrubs like Bender are getting minutes over Jordan Hill is because he's more talented & more active on the floor?

Hill is working on his game. Whether he could work harder is another question, but I have no doubt he is putting in at least the minimum amount of work you would expect from a rookie. His problem is he still needs to learn to play team basketball on both ends. That will come with time.

MDA said that it's real close between Hill and Landry, but that Landry just shows a bit more. He said that Hill is getting close and I believe that MDA is working on the kid to make sure he realizes the level he has to take it to in order to really excel at this level. I believe MDA is doing the right thing. make that kid earn it and keep working hard. He's gonna get his shot this year, but there's no need to rush him and just give him time when there's a guy that is bustin his arse in practice and showing he really wants it. Hill wasn't called lazy by MDA, in fact he said he's working hard, just not harder than Landry.

i got no problem seeing Marcus Landry get minutes if he's working hard & has earned it... i do have a problem seeing a crippled player on the floor who gives us nothing when we have our #8 lottery pick wasting his talent on the bench tho.

He just doesn't care. He has been guaranteed about 10M dollars already as a #8 draft pick and he seems just fine with that.

He's more into his hair than he is his game.

Yet I get bashed when I take this guy to task. Go figure.

We all do more in our sleep than Jordan Hill seems to want to do in life.

He's a waste.

He should still get time in games like last night when we were going down in flames while David Lee was getting shat on like a port-a-potty at a rock concert though.

What the hell would the harm be?

Meanwhile, a while ago someone replied to a scathing post of mine direct at Hill, with "Well, if he knows he's not going to play why should he care."

Well, this is why: You don't automatically get playing time and then say "Cool, I'm playing, now I'll work hard in practice." - it is the other way around, you work your ass off and you FORCE them to play you because you have been tearing it up in practice and making those who get minutes over you look foolish.

Jordan Hill doesn't give a **** plain and simple. He is one big dumb lazy POS that just seems like it's a task to watch games and can't wait until they are over so he can go catch a smoke.

Again, as I said in another thread, I don't take this "face only a mother can love" approach to being a fan of the team. If a player is screwing up I am calling them out on it.

Hill is a disgrace to hard working athletes everywhere. And THAT is why an absolute scrub like Marcus Landry is getting minutes over him.

It won't change. This guy needs to be dealt with Jeffries for a 2010 so we can tell LeBron we can sign him AND any other player of his choosing.

didnt you say the same stuff about Gallo?

Hill's time is coming soon. MDA said he's close. I would have to say I like the way the team is being run because the results on the floor speak for themselves.

A few people said the same thing about Gallo. And when he put up they mostly shut up. When he has a down game, even though he is essentially a rookie, a thread is started.

I don't see this as being about Hill, rather about D'Antoni. Look at the evidence. How long did it take him to ditch SSOL and commit to defense? Coach is slow as a snail when it comes to change, but as consistent as Mercury when it comes to his players.

Really, if Hill was getting playing time and showing zilch, then complainers would have a point. Since he isn't we have to look for quotes that support agendas (and only those are based in their arguments, not anything fair and from both sides). It's getting old but at least we are playing VERY VERY GOOD as a team.

I never liked the Hill pick and told people this from day one. However, I don't know about him being lazy at all. As a matter of fact Walt Frazier said that Hill has been work hard. Herb Williams and Mike Breen have also made these same statements. Many times when Landry is working on his game Hill is there too along with Toney Douglas and Chandler.

When I saw that it was ok. I get it but when he sees a undrafted rookie playing in front of him, he got to say WTF? And get in early and leave late in practice. Go up to his teammates, coaches and ask for help. Say in front of the coaches' face and say I'm no Eddy Curry, I give a **** damnit! Go hard after Jeffries/Lee in practice. I read where Chandler made his personal time available to work with coaches, is Jordan doing the same?

Coach said that his time will come soon, so maybe he is doing the same. But unless we are at the practice, how would anyone know?

why won't Walsh include him in a potential deal for McGrady? If he has a piss poor work ethic, that should have been communicated by MDA & his staff to Walsh.

Good Grief. After a 20-something game career, we already know this kid's practice/work ethic inside out, what he can and can't do, etc. He's not old enough to know what his favorite sexual position yet and we've already got his career arc determined. Whatever.

And in other news: Gallinari is a bust and Donnie Walsh should be FIRED for passing on Cry Baby Randolph and Brook "I Star on the worst Team in NBA History" Lopez

Ya'll need to make up your damn minds, with your bi-polar asses. When Hughes complained a couple of weeks ago about playing time, ya'll ripped him. Now Hill not complaining about playing time is a sign of his weaknesses, or some shyt. WTF?
