I think the team not only has a shot a playoff spot but a division title. I mean, look at the league. It was just a week ago the best team in the East has a .500 record. This team is close to how they started with Riley their first month. My problem is Chaney. With the exception of his 90-91 Coach of the Year he hasn't been that much of a coach. First round loses (shades of Doc Rivers) and only 1 other winning season. I know a coach needs a good team around him and this may not be the best Knick team, but the right coaching does make a better team. I hope Chaney the best...but maybe with another team...

The fact is, the good teams in this league are good because the beat the bad teams. When you're losing to teams like Orlando, a team like Indiana can come in and have a let down to you, because it's obvious you suck.
I see what you are saying but most of the good teams are considered good because they can beat other good teams as well. Beating bad team is one of the things but it is important to be competitive with all the teams in the league.

If I misunderstood you an I'm just restating your point then let me know. My hearts been broken by this coach so many times that I cannot get too excited till we reach .500!

I get what you're saying. But San Antonio lost to the Lakers, and it's still obvious that their one hell of a team. I'm just saying that if the Knicks lose to New Jersey on Sunday, that doesn't mean that we won't see them in the Eastern Conference Finals...
Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

San Antonio also beat other good teams. You were saying that a good team is called good because it beats bad teams. I'm saying good teams are called good beacause they beat both good and bad teams. If the knicks get to .500 and/or beat good teams as well, they are a good team.

I wont bring them down for losing one or two games. This is my favorite team but I think they have flaws in their roster that make them not good. The Lakers, Spurs, Mavs, T'wolves, Indiana, New Orleans, Detroit, Sacramento, Denver, Houston and New Jersey are better. If New York can beat some of them and beat the bad teams, then they are a good team.

No one expects them to sweep San Antonio and LA but claiming they are good after beating 3 under .500 teams seems pre-mature to me. You can call them a good team if you want. What wrong with others wanting to wait till they prove a little more.

While the Magic were relieved Tuesday when the results of Tracy McGrady's magnetic resonance imaging test on his strained were negative, they weren't happy that he left the building during their humilating 28-point loss to the Knicks in their own building on Monday night.

THIS IS HOW GOOD TEAMS BEAT OTHERS INTO SUBMISSION...made their star run away from the embarrassment.

Living in New Jersey for the last 3 years has been hell! The Nets started winning exactly when the Knicks run ended and ever since then the FAKE, BANDWAGON Net fans have been getting in my face and sticking it to me and I had nothing to come back on.

I cannot wait to see the Knicks against Jersey. I would LOVE TO SEE them walk all over those retards. I'm not a big KVH fan but I hate the Nets and I want KVH to drop 50 on them. I want the Nets to be BEATEN INTO SUBMISSION. I want their stars to run away. I want to see Kenyon being rejected by Deke and Van Horn shooting in Richardson's face all day. I cannot wait for this game. MAKE KIDD AND MARTING RUN AND HIDE. MAKE THEM REALIZE THEY ARE NOT THAT GOOD! Destroy the Nets.

haha beautiful post Silver! You have me all rallied up. I hate the Nets and I want to stick it too them in the worst way too!! I have some friends who call themselves Knick fans and have never been to the Garden but go to the Meadowlands often to route for the Nets. And then when I tell them the Knicks will beat the Nets they tell me I'm Crazy. Where is the faith in their team. So called die-hards

Yes, I want the Knicks to stick it to Jersey as well!!! I'm beginning to actually believe we can!

And I suppose there's one area where I must see playa's point...especially about KVH,

I've played pickup ball in scenarios where I feel that my OWN teammates are just out for self, working off some aggression, like they lost their job or something, their girl was banging the mailman, whatever...these teammates always jump on you negatively when you accidentally throw a bad pass, miss a layup, whatever. You feel bad enough when you miss a layup, but when your 'family' dogs you on top of that, it digs a morale hole. When I play, especially with strangers, I take the opposite approach...You miss a shot, I say, 'don't sweat it, keep shooting'...and I notice that the guy loosens up, knowing he won't be condemned. I think that may have happened with Keith. I think Isaiah somehow sent a message to him, saying, 'It's ok, I'm not comparing you to Spree, I just want you to be you, so go out there and do that.'

Either that or Keith is seriously getting laid more.

Speaking of getting laid (second time I did that this week)

Feliz ano nuevo to all those who bleed orange and blue! May this year bring you all happiness...and either a winning record or high draft pick.

I agree, plus that's the only way to re-configure the cap, which is a pre-requisite to improving the talent base long-term.

Playa being a fan means rooting for the logo on the jersey not for the players on the team. You yourself have said the same thing when it suited you, mainly when attacking Spree. Rooting for whatever crap they have playing and coaching is just plain dumb. It is in no way being a fan. And let’s get something straight, this team is at best a playoff contender in the EAST. It will go nowhere against any WESTERN team out there that will come out of the WEST. The whole team needs to be restructured in order to be a title contender. We need to get a post player in here and Dyes has shown he is virtually done, at best a Danny Manning. We need a long term center, I love Mutambo but he is close to 40. Van Horn and Houston make way too much for what they do on the court and thus hold the team back from getting a superstar. Thus one or both of them must and will be moved eventually, not this year most likely but in the off-season, this or next. It will take about 3 years for Thomas to remake the team in his image, during these 3 years we will at best be a 1 to 2 round team in the EAST. Of course I will be rooting for them and telling all my friends how the Knicks will win it all once/if they make the playoffs, but I aren’t gonna say it to other Knicks fans, the kind of talk you talk is for the enemy fans, not for fellow Knick fans playa. We all root for the Knicks no matter what, but among fellow Knick fans its OK and necessary to say it how it is.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?
