MDA is about as honest of a coach with the media that you will see in the league. I don't think he lied when he said he wanted to develop youth, but things come up, Bender fell into lap, vets need to be respected, etc.,. He is committed to developing youth, but the thing is, the youth is youth. Is only first half of season, we are playing awesome, he is riding the wave. Plenty of time for Hill, Douglas to develop.

I don't understand how fans don't get that MDA is the best thing to happen to this franchise in a while. The guy is trying to change the culture on this team and he KNOWS winners!!! He feels that he needs to limit certain guys cuz they don't lead to winning ball and really how can any of us fault him for that? Nate can play, but is he a winner? Does he have the professionalism that winning teams all seem to have? MDA would prefer to only play a guy like Nate or Curry short minutes, but that's not what kind of players they are.

A kid like TD can play a limited role and be a positive. I think MDA has enough coaching experience to know that it won't work with certain guys so until he sees otherwise I would expect things to stay the same until a solution is worked out. Nate has to improve in areas that he's failed to improve on in his career so far. Curry actually has to change his game to fit in and that's not likely to happen. It could and if it did, I expect that MDA would play them, but I think he knows it won't happen.

who cares what he says? he's not playing either guy and it's fine with me. I don't want to see Nate out there acting like a toddler and eddy out there slothing it up.

i care... it reeks of transparency to me & i'd much rather he just be straight up or just say "no comment"... don't feed me this stupid BS line about respecting these guys... if you can take that kinda BS shovelling that's up to you douchebag.

the point is and this has been my stance since i joined this forum is that i could care less what coaches or gm's say to the media. its ALWAYS fodder in some way which is why i dont pay attention to it. the sooner you stop listening to it, the sooner you'll stop having to have bs shoveled to you.

i don't listen to it cuz i know it's bull****... i've been telling u ever since he made those stupid "developing our youth" comments he's just shovelling more bull****... doesn't make it any less annoying.

I think he meant he wanted the youth to develop hemorrhoids from sitting on the bench.

Doesn't it makes them veterans instantly?

what does all that have anything to do w/BS being shelled out by MDA? we all know what he's trying to do... that's got nothing to do w/what's being discussed here.

This is called trying to maintain minimal trade value. More of a backhanded insult. Had to group Al and Will in there because those are two guys he has been really leaning on to get better. At the beginning of the season, he was touting Will and Gallo as centerpieces and slowly but surely Will is being pushed to the back burner and being replaced with Lee.

I have a feeling Lee will be back, Will is so so now because he was being touted as a PF by Pringles and is still the same inconsistent tweener with no jumper or range minus that explosiveness that made everyone think he would be special at one point.

Pringles is building this team around Lee(his new version of Marion) and Gallo(a guy he is slowly building up to go to guy status).

Wilson is being pushed back? His minutes in December are up 5 per game compared with November. His shooting is up almost 5% as well. His points are up to 16.5 from 11.5! That is huge. He is CLEARLY more explosive in December, as his ankle is back near 100%. I don't care if Wilson can't shoot the long ball great, he doesn't need to. If he focuses on his mid game and driving the ball he is a very very good player. And don't forget his great defense.

So, how do you see Wilson being pushed back and getting replaced by Lee? It seems pretty clear that Wilson, Lee and Gallo are the future in D'Antoni's eyes.

I think Hughes and Harrington's roles are the ones that will be decreasing. When they are on they help us but they can't be relied upon game after game to take over (really Al here).

Remember when Wilson was talked about as an untouchable. Every other sentence was Wilson and Gallo. Now all he talks about is Lee and Gallo. He actually just did it recently when talking about the Knicks, he headlined with Gallo and Lee and he left Wilson out of the conversation entirely. It will take me time to find the quote but a couple people pointed it out here.

That is what I meant about Wilson being pushed back in the eyes of the organization. He was, along with Gallo, close to untouchable, and it has been reported that now Gallo is as close to untouchable as there is on this team.
