Curry is better off just sitting his butt on the bench & collecting the rest of the money that's owed to him at this point.
Because he could resign with another team next year more suited to his style. MDA's offense requires guys that can handle the ball and that can move. Curry's game is not really right for that offense, because he cannot really handle the ball anywhere other than on the low block. Everytime MDA put him in the game, he disrupted the offense and I don't see that materially improving over time as Curry generally sucks at anything other than backing his man down and scoring in the paint. Given the time value of money, if he got most of his money this year and could sign with another team on a 1-2 year deal for $2-$3 million, he would be better off taking the buyout, especially if he went to a team running an offense that fits his skills.
right now i just don't think he's shown enough to warrant any team wanting to invest anything more than a veteran's minimum contract on him... his conditioning isn't where it should be even tho he's lost a lot of weight, & he's still rusty in the paint... he doesn't have nearly the strength & quickness that he had when he was having that 19 & 7 season for us, not even close... plus his knees are a constant issue, there's no telling when he'll break down again... i don't see him getting a $4 million dollar deal from anyone until he can prove he can stay healthy for an appreciable length of time & put up numbers again.
