Basketball is an intimate team sport. You have just 12 guys who need to trust each other and always have each others back. They are together for eight months out of the year.

Not one New York beat writer will cite Darko's work habits, his approach to the game or ask the other players about his personality.

Why has no one ever mentioned the words, "locker room cancer"?

earl, really. who gives a **** about darko milicic. most peple looked at him as a bust who at least spared us of another year of q-brick minutes at the expense of wlson and danilo development.

Marv- I don't give a rats butt about how "most people" see him. When did you ever see The Answer Man follow the braying herd of sheep who follow the media shepherds? This is not simply about Darko. It is about his sympathetic coverage describing him as some type of victim.

Darko Milicic, the poor victim who was glued to the bench by his over-demanding coach?

C'mon man!

Darko Forgot That Minutes Are Earned

"Fed-up Knicks center Darko Milicic told The Post he has decided to play in Europe next season." - Berman

"Fed up"?

"The way we're playing," Milciic said, "It makes more sense for Marcus [Landry] to dress."

Last time I checked, both Darke AND Landry had unis with New York on the front. It was not an either/or situation.

Marv - in your informed opinion, why do you think Darko Milicic is not getting any minutes?

i think it's because he's sucked on the court and has shown an attitude toward the game and others that's disgusted d'antoni, and rightfully so.

what about you?

The Answer Man Also Cared About Roberto Clemente, Dick Allen, Hank Aaron and Roger Maris

nyk4ever - you care way to much about the media.

The Answer Man would not be The Answer Man if he did not care too much, or challenge you to think a bit differently. The Answer Man watched Roger Maris age dramatically, and lose his hair, over the relentless pressure generated by the local writers who resented him for daring to chase The Babe. When Mantle rested, or limped after a fly ball, due to arthritic knees he was accused of "dogging it." Of course I care, because the people who receive the benefit of mass distribution shape public opinion while they abuse the privilege under the cloak of journalism.

Q. Marv - what about you?

A. i think it's because he's sucked on the court and has shown an attitude toward the game and others that's disgusted d'antoni

I think someone misses big game.

If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

just like we should have trusted you when you said he'd be an alsstar this year with like 42 blocks a game. obm, why not just take a break from posting nonsense for a change?

I wasn't wrong in gauging his Winning-Brain. I was wrong in my expectations of how his Winning-Brain and the current NBA (NYK) system would merge.

Darko has a tiny bit of talent and some shotblocking ability but the issue here is different: He is flat out quitting on the team. He is bitching to the papers about how life in the NBA sucks and seems to hardly support his teammates. You dont see him even cheering from the bench. I mean for crying out loud, we get on Nates back, yet hes been nothing but awesome about handling this, and hes so much better than Darko.

Yet instead of busting his butt to find a way to burst into the rotation, like how Nate is supposedly doing, hes just whining and sulking in his misery.

Thats pretty far from putting your leadership on display and showing that you are a star. Hes more like a baby.

is ok nyk4; jimi doesn't need to have a heart, he just needs to respect an open and adaptive mind when he sees one.

where was obm wrong in saying that "I wasn't wrong in gauging his Winning-Brain. I was wrong in my expectations of how his Winning-Brain and the current NBA (NYK) system would merge."?

we won't know until 2010, when Darko is dominating Europe. I concede that i mistook his ability to adapt his Winning-Brain to the American Game, but I was not wrong in the foundation of my argument, which is that Darko is a winner and is capable of taking a team to victory. Is all.

He was watching the Cats game from the locker room. Unless asked him to stay there, that just ain't cool. At least PRETEND to be supportive.
