To Nolad, Layden, whatever.
I’m sure that the chorus of outrage directed at Scott Layden had everything to do with him being a white man, and nothing to do with him being arguably the worst G.M in sports history. People screamed until their voices turned hoarse that the Knicks should hire Jerry West, who is…well, you get my drift. BTW, when you mentioned the Knicks sucking because of a Black president you can’t possibly be referring to either Mills or Isiah. You just cant have your head stuck that far up Layden/Dolan corporate *** to say something that dumb.
In your zeal to attack I think you lost sight of the fact that an anti-Euro stance would be considered more nationalism or jingoism than racism…(Case in point Tony Parker who is European and Black)…I’m really not with all that Jingo-jango U.S.A is perfect, God Bless America b.s that you can hear on any country and western song, because for starters Layden put together a remarkably soft team without the help of any players from the overseas. Which brings me to…
The white Utes comment you referred to is really the way people responded in a metaphorical fashion to the pipeline from Utah that Layden erected. First off it was referred to as mainly a Utah fetish rather then it being boiled down simply to “white Utes” How else would you explain Howard Eisely and Shandon Anderson. As I referred to, “blaming Utah” was a metaphor for the rigid, conservative, ways of Utah where anything urban is hardly celebrated. Therefore, when Layden stockpiled the team with bland, vanilla, no passion, non-athletic types like Eisely, Spoon, Anderson, Sweetney, Houston, Doleac, Van Horn…ext it wasn’t a big mystery to wonder what his inspiration was, it sure as hell wasn’t Brooklyn--it was the spot where the snow saturated land reflects the makeup of its people.
Bottom line, Layden and Dolan seemed to be sending a message that Black players (or whites for that matter) weren’t welcomed unless they acted like larger but just as flavorless versions of themselves, which just infuriated the hell out of me (among other things) and led to a team of suckas.
Furthermore, Done Chaney, Howard Eisely, Fatspoon, Shandon Anderson have all taken as much abuse as Layden or Dolan (rightfully so). I have yet to read anybody that was stupid enough to suggest that they were being attacked simply because of their race. They just suck, plain and simple (sports has a way of extracting race and getting straight to the bottom line) The fact that you zero in on the criticisms of just whites, ignore the criticisms of Blacks, and seem so offended that people would call for incompetent Dolan to be replaced by a Black man such as P.Diddy or Jay Z says that you are just chucking rocks in your own little glass house.
Lastly, slow down on your Spreewell is human garbage tangent. What are Spree’s worst offenses? He punched out another grown man (P.J) ? Showed up late for practices? Hurled obscenities at an owner that was all to willing to boomerang them back? Didn’t report his broken hand early? Damn, with that kind of record lets get the gas chamber warmed up for him!
Since you are so backed up with moral diarrhea and a corporate sensibility you are ready to put the devil’s horns on anyone who doesn’t look or act like Ward Cleaver. Spree may be a little rough around the edges, and he has had less then proud moments, but he is by no means “human garbage”. Again, revealing more about yourself then the people you take shots at.
Get over your self man. Take that I love Layden and Dolan and am a willing sycophant for them nonsense to corporatewimps.com. And next time don’t equate any bogus white man’s struggle to Blacks fighting for integration.
My saliva and spit can split thread into fiber and bits/ So trust me I'm as live as it gets.
