My detailed understanding of the NBA's cap and contract system is limited. Is there anything that would keep us from trading Lee before this year's trade deadline, and then resigning him next season assuming the team we trade him to does not offer him a crazy contract we have to compete against?

I think Lee has to approve the trade and, I doubt he'd do that without a very specific understanding of terms with the other team.

I agree with whoever said it above,why do we hafta keep moving our pieces all around the league.I agree Lee isnt worth 12 mil and sometimes wonder if his agent is the one pressuring him to ask for that much. In a perfect world Lee would wanna be here for the rebuilding process,maybe hes getting kinda close to his teammates,he knows that if hes walks he hasta get used to a role on another team.IMO I think I would be satisfied if this team just comes to play like they have been doing this yr,provide excitement at the Garden and generally get to know each other for next yr and forward.Remember the Cavs aint playing all the good this yr and contrary to what Bron is saying hes watching this team play and gel. Of course we are gonna sign some guys and let some go but somewhere down the line MDA and Walsh are going to hafta draw the line and say ok next yr this is who goes and this is who stays. We must keep young core but we must also have vets to provide leadership. Its gonna be a hard process but Im confident we as fans and the Knicks management will get thru this. As a fan as long as I see improvement in our players and look forward to sitting down and watching a team playing like ours is now Im ok with waiting. Any thoughts??

i think weve waited a long time as its is. for me im interested in building a team i can be excited about and continuing on with players weve had that have amounted to nothing but crappy seasons im ready for some major changes to be made. we stuck with the plan to clear cap for the sole purpose of signing some marquee talent this offseason and thats what i expect to be followed thru with. cant stop short of the goal and change course now just cuz were in a good win streak for 5 games. 500 seasons is not what i want for this team, i want some serious ass kicking talent to be brought in and go for something alot bigger in the coming years.
