If Curry could manage to play till the deadline w/o re-injuring the knee then who knows, could be possible but between the chronic knees and the bad ticker I don't think so. If JJ can continue his good defense and intangibles + decrease hi T.O.'s and continue to score in the 6-8 pt. range maybe someone will take from us...one can only hope

Yeah, Jeffries does play pretty good defense and a very good team would be wise to have him around for defensive purposes. It will just make them stronger, but the question is, is his defense worth so much?

Curry can be very trade-able. He only has one year on his contract after this and if he starts playing ok and scoring like he can, what team wouldn't want him for one year (I mean what team that is missing a center?). He could put the right team over the top, even with his shortcomings.

I'm no longer looking to get everything done in 2010! I don't feel good about being able to move Curry at all. Jared we have a slim shot at trading. I think Walsh will use the cap space on a PG and of course bigtime FA. We may have to go the trade route to get the PG.

There could be some playoff bound teams trying to figure out how they are going to match up against the size advantage of teams like the lakers, Celtics, Magic etc...but Eddy has to prove he can stay healthy. Hopefully, he has the right Physical therapy guys strengthening the muscles around the knee and other weakened areas....but it could be his knees are just wrecked. He's going to have to prove he can stay healthy. Not sure if any smart GM would take a chance until he can prove that he can.

As far as what JJ's defense is worth, playoff bound teams might think it's worth alot. I think it's important for JJ to show some more improvement offensively though. He does look more confident cutting to the basket, but his hands are still like brick and his bonehead T.O's have to stop

I would call him go with guy.
If his shots are falling in we are up to something, if not we are done.
Very nice guy to have Galo, Chan, and Co stand aroung and watch the Al-action.

Yep. Another 2 unmovable objects...
Chris Paul in 2011 comes in mind to slighly lessen this depression.

Harrington is okay but should not be playing over Gallinari at any point. Gallinari needs to get equal or more minutes than Al.

Who has had the ball in his hands the most when it matters?

Larry Hughes is the Knicks go to guy.

Can you define "go-to" guy? Perhaps floor leader is a better job description.

i just can't fathom any team out there being willing to pay Fishlips ~$8 mil next season (15% trade kicker) to play the type of game he plays, contender or no.

If we want to make the playoffs, I don't think there is any expiring contract we can trade for that would help us more than Harrington when he is playing under control, as he did during the last two games. I noticed that the team has cut down the number of 3s, which is causing players to drive more and improving our fg%. At this point, if I am Walsh, I let the team ride the current wave for another month. If we move into the 8th seed spot by mid-January, I probably hold onto all my pieces unless a team makes a great offer for Harrington, like a mid-1st round pick or young prospect at PG or if they are take back Jeffries or Curry in exchange for Harrington. Otherwise, I would keep the team the same and let the year play out. This team could gain alot of growth from playing in the playoffs, and a playoff appearance would improve our chances of attracting a top FA. In sum, I would not pass up a great trade for our future to keep Harrington, but I also would not just give him away for crap, like just a second round pick.

That's alot of cheetos. There aren't too many teams he could start on, and them's starter dollars. Damn you Isiah

the only possible way i can fathom dumping Fishlips' contract is if we package it with Mobley's (so u pretty much get back the money you're paying out for Fishlips next season w/the insurance savings on Mobley's deal) & also throwing in a sweetener like Lee, Al, Chandler or Gallo... i wouldn't give up Gallo to dump Fishlips' contract, but i'm down to give up any of the other 3... not too many big expiring deals available out there other than T-Mac, but even if we could nab ourselves a good player signed longterm who can actually factor into our future plans, then i'm down w/it too.

Walsh has a slim chance of doing Jared since at least he does kind of fill a role as a glue guy. He defends just about any position which gives your defense a boost. He doesn't demand shots and if you can give them some savings using Mobley, maybe it works for some team out there. It's slim, but possible.

Yeah, for whatever reason MDA likes Jeffries. I have to admit that he really disrupts the opposing team's offense with his defense, especially when MDA puts him on a pgs, who are not used to being guards by someone with his length. I still think (and hope) that Walsh will trade him as soon as someone is willing to trade for him for an expiring deal, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Al is one of our go-to guys right now, but he just needs to focus his energy better at times. That way, ghe won't get caught up in committing silly fouls, gettign hit up by the refs for hanging on rims and slapping backboards, etc.

I like his fire and heart, though- he reminds me of the intensity that Spree brought to the team about a decade ago (wow- time sure flies!)...

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
