Never good? wtf you talking about i'd trade for him right now.

Is that first-overall good, though? Another case of draft position hanging over player's head.

He has barely begun to scratch his potential.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

If Oden weren't injury prone, he'd be a top player. But he is injury prone. That's why you don't draft players like D. Blair with an early pick.

i didn't watch many OSU games but was Oden very injury prone in college? i don't think u can really predict injuries in this game unless you just have a long history of breaking down... i'm sure 30 NBA GM's woulda picked Blake Griffin #1 overall this past year too.

TMS: I just can't stand the guy or his fans. Never could. As I said you'd think you were looking at God himself after listening to anything regarding Oden heading to the NBA. I hate that crap. I really do. It's not his fault, but, it's there. So good riddance to him, his phony jockriders, and the bullcrap hype of how amazing of a player he was going to be.

Ligament damage that required surgery. Missed the start of his freshman season.

What the hell? Why are you so angry? Oden seems like a great guy --- one of the more genuine and thoughtful athletes in pro sports. I actually feel really bad for ol' boy cause I know he's taking this hard.

And I dont remember the hype around Oden being anything greater than the customary hype for a number one pick so I dont get why you're trippin' about that.

I dont think he would have ever justified being picked over Durant, but I think he could have turned into an above-average big man. I put that in the past tense because duke just cant stay healthy. If anything it stunts his development.

I feel bad for the kid too. The hype and all that, none of it is on him. He does seem like a kid at heart trapped in that huge frame. I don't know much about sports injuries, but two knees, at that age, how much can he possible contribute when he comes back?

I just saw the video and that was a Shawn Livingston type injury. Duke is definitely done. His knee imploded.

Actually reminded me of McDyess's injury in preseason when Layden was still GM.

Did not hear about this one he is the guy I was hoping we might pick up in this past draft before he decided to stay in college. Excellent all around guard-a rebounder, defender, scorer, leader-a Richard Hamilton type player, IMO.

Hope he recovers.

I think this is the same injury McDyess had. I recall because I experienced it too, a ruptured patella tendon. My knee cap did the same thing Oden's did. It shifted up and out of place. You can see the indention where his kneecap should be when you watch the video.

I saw Shaun's injury and I swear it was grotesque enough for me to get that sick feeling in my stomach. Oden's injury to me seemed alot worse after the fact when you could see how messed up his knee was. Shaun's injury was just sick nasty.

oden hurts his right knee getting up from the couch.
he now hurts his left knee planting to jump.

there's something unnatural about a 18 year old kid looking like he's 40 in college. looks like his joints are those of a 40 year old too.

This is just sad. I got no reason to root against this guy. He's a nice kid and deserved a better fate than the devastating injuries he has suffered.

I like Oden. At some point you have to get over where a player was selected in the draft and actually evaluate the player. I did not see superstar written on Oden, but he was turning into a very good player. If healthy, worst case scenario you have a tough rebounder that blocks shots, d's his postion well, makes the easy ones and is an overall intimidator. Not something to poo poo. We need that here.

It's obvious the guy is injury prone and it's a shame. He seems like a really good guy. Not sure I understand Cosmic's rationale behind hating him. Because other people hyped him? So if TMS says Cosmic is a demigod and it turns out that Cosmic is just a man, should I then hate Cosmic/

I just hope that people will like me
