the knicks would get him and then he'd rack up DNP-CDs for d'antoni while the stash demands he "earn" playing time over guys like al harrington and david lee, since they're playing for contracts.

PS wasn't jordan hill supposed to do all the stuff mcgee does? now we're going to overpay for a guy who apparently does the same things (blocks shots, is a true 5, etc etc).

prob right, they would play jeffries over him too.

We will NEVER compete seriously without a C--and I don't mean a 6-9 C. I don't care who we get in FA--even LBJ--we need atleast 2 6-11+ guys who can play.

Hill is 6-10.25 and is clearly the guy MDA wants to develop as a PF/C. He's fast, long, has a jumper and blocks shots. He's the prototypical MDA Big. He may not be ready yet but they likely see him filling that role.

I think going for a guard like Ellis would be a higher priority. Not that I have a problem with McGee. Heck I also like A. Randolph and a lot of other young guys, but I don't see any deals we could make right now.

Of course this means that his value to Washington will be increasing, and they will be less likely to let him go.

who can show the same skills as this kid shows? Again this is a 7 footer with extremly long arms. I'm staying in the camp we need a big man--guard are much easier to acquire.

Briggs, I know (and knew) you like him, but until his last 4 games he had done nothing this year that demonstrated the talent/raw ability that BOTH of us think he has. That is all I was pointing out.

Yes but the time to even try to attempt to acquire a guy is BEFORE he takes off. Once he takes off it's all over. We do have a nice borderline all star PF that will be very tough to retain and a guy that they wanted for pick 5---I have to think that in a win now mode--we can atleast get into a conversation that might go somewhere.

I would call it BRIDDS musterpiece - "white Square". Malevich is not even close - he used too much black paint... And I will think to go green... someday.

Mcgee is 7-1 250 with a 7-6 reach. He is way way longer than Hill and I think IF given a chance---his overall game can take off. Hill I see as a guy who is raw all the way around and too smallish to play true 5.

we didn't necessarily draft Hill to play a true 5... we drafted him cuz Lee's future here was uncertain... it still is... IMO Hill's gonna be a 4 here in all likelihood... i'd be fine w/going after McGee but the fact that you're so ready to be down on Hill when u haven't seen him play much is what baffles me... in fact, a future frontcourt of McGee & Hill would suit me just fine right now.

Man who cares about a "true 5" anymore? We just need
good players period. Hill has the basic skills we need and like McGee he's got
to develop. He may not be a true center but in this offense he would fit well.

There's nothing wrong with McGee as a prospect but I think we have need of a PG and SG,
why waste resources to get MCGee?

I think Chandler and parts for McGee and parts would be a good deal for us. Not sure if they want Chandler though since they are forward heavy.
