i think Wilson would make a perfect #3 option on any winning roster... he doesn't have the mindset yet to be a go to guy that's featured in the offense, but his talent makes him a potent offensive weapon whenever he's on the floor... his defense is underrated as well.

It is a beautiful thing to watch a 22 year old gain his confidence.

The consistent scoring of The Mayor (4 games in a row of 20 plus points) is one thing but the 6 assists (with only ONE turnover) are more worthy of discussion. As Mr. Chandler grows into his role handling the ball, he has improved his decision-making and bonded with Gallo and Lee to form a sweet shooting jazz combo. Chandler driving the ball inside was an essential compliment to Lee's midrange game and Gallo's Jerry Lucas-like outside bombs.

For good measure, Wilson Chandler also snatches 7 rebounds and is perfect (4-4) from the line. Graceful and powerful.

However, none of it matters is the Knicks don't get a huge win against a physical Charlotte team. The New Knicks took the Bobcats best shots and kept coming back. The Mayor led the Knicks with 45 minutes played and continues to shoot more than 50 per cent from the field in his recent stretch of self-discovery. The best part? The fun is just getting started. As The Mayor's Campaign Manager I would like to recognize those who have contributed generously to the cause.

The Mayor thanks you for your support

I thought I banned you.

it was a good attempt bro

orangeblob - according to published reports, Chandler's ankle is still not 100 per cent. If Chill Will continues to add assists (6 last night) to his portfolio, think of the continuity and fluidity that could be a feature of Knicks basketball in February.

Just imagine The Mayor at full strength.

I was down on Wil and considered him a throw in to convince some team to take a bad contract from us. I hope he keeps proving me wrong. P.S. glad he isn't shooting so many 3s.

earl- they say he's 95%. and a cortisone shot 2 weeks ago. that's insanity. this guy with a good offseason is going to be scary come 2010-2011. if we trade this man, we WILL regret it next season. that's my word.

i was down to trade Wilson to dump FL or Curry's contracts, but would have hated it either way... dude has become my favorite player on this team since last year, i just love how he goes about his business & doesn't show anybody up... kid is as humble as they come but has taken his game to another level w/his aggressive drives to the hole... every interview he's self effacing & gives his teammates credit before taking any for himself... i hope he's here for the long haul & we can figure out some other way to dump the cap killing contracts.

I'm not even looking at this as a Knicks fan. Lebron would be a fool to stay in Cleveland.

Chandler is just rounding into form from his injury. The Knicks have three guys that can get you 20 on any given night. Having someone like Chandler at the sg/pf spot is going to be a nightmare for teams because of his strength and quickness.

Lebron/Chandler is an offense/defense version of Battier/Artest. This kid has limitless potential. If we make the playoffs and I'm convince Lebron will come to the knicks because we have a team that is only getting better and is young. Not to mention if Hill even puts it together this team could literally be a force for 7-8 years

Two weeks ago, Chandler underwent a cortisone shot on his cranky left ankle that had undergone summer arthroscopic surgery and prevented him from having a good start. Chandler calls his ankle "95 percent," and his rise has directly coincided with the Knicks' resurgence.

Chandler is their X-factor, even if he doesn't get Gallinari's scrutiny or acclaim because of a quiet demeanor and utter lack of showboating.

Chandler is averaging 18 points on 51.6 percent shooting during this 18-game surge after averaging just 11.9 points on 39 percent shooting in the first 17 games.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Apology

Panos - "So, earl, I'm waiting on YOUR apology"

You got it... I apologize for:

- falling in love with David Lee at the HS slam dunk contest

- hanging out with The Answer Man

- wanting Eddy Curry to get it right, in basketball or painting watercolors, whichever makes him most happy

- hooking Wilson Chandler as The Mayor out of giddy optimism, during Las Vegas Summer League two years ago, where I watched him in person.

- cheering too loud

- thinking that Danilo Galinari's skill set resembles Jerry Lucas and would be even closer if he improves his rebounding

- for wasting time with such a juvenile request

- not buying djsu a pretzel and beverage of his choice during the Sonics game

- for hating piped in, artificial noise when fans in The Garden are more than adequate when they have a reason the cheer

- liking Jonathan Bender because I love a good comeback story

- finally, for my patently false claim of never commenting on Sue Yue that you originally spelled as Sun Yi

How's that?

I dont know about that. Drexler is a top 50 player and in his prime he was just a couple of notches below Jordan.

"Seriously, you need help. Welcome back."

Panos - admit it. I complete you.

The best part about The Mayor is that his young game has elements that we have seen before, but not quite in the same 6'8 package. I am reminded of the oh so gifted Len Bias. Not for a comparison, but for the unusual combination of grace and power that he embodied.

Imagine Chandler in two years, with healthy ankles and the respect of the refs at a mature 6'8, 245.
