What the heck are you blabbering about? If the plan was to get under the cap for the summer of '10, then the plan is still a go. This does nothing to deviate from that plan. Iverson will get a one year deal. How does a one year deal affect us 3 yrs down the road?
it's about the residue. psychologically it will set us back to the marbury days.
do you realize that marbury version 2 is coming to us??
you think mda is going to be able to bench iverson this year? iverson is officially a starter for the rest of the year. the first game he's not, he'll probably pack his bags and throw a tantrum. this is horrible. what kind of message will that send? it's all a mess. a cluster F, as they say.
This is a much different situation than in Memphis where het have a young pg they want to groom. Who would MDA bench Iverson in favor of? Duhon? The same Duhon that Walsh has all but admitted he has no use for when he publically coveted Steph Curry, Rubio and Sessions? If Iverson puts on the blue and orange next week, believe he already got a promise from MDa that he will be the starter. If Iverson signs elsewhere, he didn't get the promise.
Dont see the residue Iverson might leave behind being any worse than the residue being created right now in terms of yet another losing culture. How about the residue of going through the motions. How about Al Harrrington jacking up shots from the tunnel? Now thats bad residue. How about the bad losing habits that Lee and Nate have picked up since they got into the league?
Iverson on the other hand at least can sit in the locker room and speak of a time when he helped will a team to the finals. Iverson, by example will show the team how to compete, night in night out.
