Basically, Arkrud, this is a thread that was not meant to bash MDA, but to bash americans for being too selfish, too dumb and too worried about their own individual accomplishments to play the team ball that MDA promotes. Yet, none of the typical MDA bashes can see through their hatred of MDA to see the real point of this thread. SMH.

Now we know why it was a good move to get Gallo! It's why I also think there still REALLY serious about trying to get Rubio! I think they're laying low and acting uninterested, but really they want that kid bad. MDA needs a PG that can be for him what Nash was and I think they feel he's that guy. What benefit would there be in getting a Jennings or Gordon when they still don't address the need for a floor leader that can run this team at its highest level.

I was not intended to bash Americans in general... because I am American, so why I would?
I was trying to call out the posters who are obsessed with NBA-star-mania and cannot understand the beauty of the game of basketball when it played by well coached team together as one well oiled mechanism.
It is much more fun to watch that see freaks of nature go one-on-one playground style.

arkrud - as the average height of an NBA player is 6'7, it was refreshing to see that 6'10 freak of nature, Danilo Gallinari, go one-on-one at the top of the key and make that clutch three pointer to preserve the 14 point lead last night against Portland.

That was freaky

His teams do well defensively when they have good individual defenders on the court like Raja Bell. Hughes, Douglas, and Jefferson are all in the rotation and play good defense. Teams also work harder on defense when their offense is flowing and they are competively in the game. I disagree about MDA being a great coach but I confess to never liking the hire or the system. As a fan I want the Knicks to be successful and it has been great watching the team be competive for the last week and a half. I was already in the mode I get into in March when I just stop watching all but a few minutes of each game.

You really go out of your way to bash MDA and Gallo don't you?

You know, you really gotta be careful when you start praising Micheal Jordan for his skills on the court. He does well when he was 4 other players around him during a game, but if he were to play 1 against 5, then I think his inherent flaws would become obvious.

WE AIN'T NOWHERE WITH THIS BUM CHOKER IN CARMELO. GIVE ME STARKS'S 2-21 ANY DAY OVER THIS LACKLUSTER CLUSTEREFF.

Mike D'Antoni is molding the Knicks in the freestyle image he envisioned.

On defense they are gaining some critical stops at key moments. The one-dimensional Jared Jeff and the versatile J Bender are a low rent version of the twin towers.

Danilo Gallinari is blocking shots and the length of Bender is a huge plus. David Lee is rebounding and astounding.

The Mayor is handling his administrative responsibilities and D'Antoni is suddenly a better coach.

I'm impressed with The Mayor's response to what we had to believe was asked of him.

Go to the basket young man!

This stuff about MikeD not being a good coach for the NBA is laughable. Like any coach, he needs good players or players who are willing to accept their roles and play together and right now the Knicks are doing the later. Can't wait til we actually get a star or two in here, this team is going to be a terror!

David Lee For MVP

The only thing that concerns me about D'Antoni's business model is the amount of freedom he allows players to hoist long range shots. Of course, the benefits can be immediate, but as the team playing personality evolves, the halfcourt game becomes essential when facing down opponents inevitable offensive surges.

The one benefit of a fixed rotation that few people comment on is that players who know their earned minutes are safe, have no need to force things.

Watching this squad become a team is a beautiful thing.

The Knicks are undefeated with Jonathan Bender.
