I agree with some who say he has to be more selfish at times, but guys on the team also have to get him the ball when he is in position.
Funny thing about Gallinari, though- as slow as he seems to look, and despite the lack of explosiveness he does not yet possess because he is not fully developed, when he wants to go to the basket, he gets there.
He needs to be taking 15+ shots/game and driving to the basket about 5X/game at this point in his career, and as Briggs says, he should be taking a wider selection of shots.
EXACTLY, and he does that with his length and long strides, plus teams have to respect his jumper..
the problem I have is that gallo is not just a stand up shooter and he is not some 6th man that comes off the bench as a gunner or energy player. He is a rythm player, get the rebound push the ball, find a teamate for a shot. He can work a little pick and roll and do things off movement. Asking a guy who stands nearly 7 feet tall to constantly beat guys off the dribble especially when everyone is just standing around clogging up the driving lanes is a joke... When he is open, and he is open on breaks, he should get the ball. Standing him in the corner and using him as a bail out option to shoot when these clowns finish playing with the ball is just ridiculous and a waste of an offensive asset...
I have watched duhon and hughes come down, gallo would be open on the wing. They wouldn't even look his way and pass the ball to each other or jeffries.. LOL.. I mean, what is that crap about?
