This was a serious post? LOLOLOL.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I don't need to see any new knicks on the screen during pregame introductions either.

This franchise sucks period. If the owner feels sorry for Isiah after the guy cost the team $175 million dollars and is still recieving an annual salary of $4million it says all you need to know about this disgrace.

I may be old school but I also understand that time moves on. The old guys sweeping the Garden floor at half time would never keep fans engaged the way sexy city dancers, contests and taped ads can. Our senses are conditioned to expect and want more. I'm cool with that. What I resent is the huge dose of dishonesty that the noise is dispensed with.

If our beloved team is 1-6 they don't pass go, they don't collect $200 and the DEFINITELY don't get dapped up by some announcer telling me to "stand up and cheer..."

It is 2009.

Is it too much to ask for a iPhone app that allows a ticket buyer in the blue seats (only) to send a text that is immediately posted (in large letters in any color I choose) on a flat screen monitor at the locker of any Knicks player?

Now, That's entertainment.

HOLY SHIT!
Who are you?! and what have you done with Earl?!

Wow.

Well if we truly have to hit rock bottom before we can get good again, there's only one hold out left... Nixluva.
I think we should go to his house with torches and pitch forks.

it's funny how the fan culture in the NBA differs so widely from other basketball leagues - especially compared to European games..

People just sit back and eat their hotdogs, and the courtside seats are so expensive that only "corporate bozos" can afford them.. But that's just my prejudice - I've only been to 4 NBA games in my life so feel free to correct me.

imho - not gonna lump the soccer fans in europe whose fandom is just plain out of this world, but other than that, nothing beats going to a euro basketball game skeng - ive seen a bunch of teams play when in greece and they go all out flat out ridiculous for their teams. i was at a game once where some dude lit-up a flare INSDIE the building as olympiakos was about to beat a rival team.

that gives me an idea for the big portland game we're all going to. it involves fishmike, a plate of beans and a lighter.

Words To Live By... Courtesy of The Answer Man

Panos - you funny. Never, EVER, let it be said that The Answer Man is a one trick pony.

It is one thing to be a loyal fan - quite another to recognize the okey-doak from the blue seats. When the hype takes precedent over substance, even though it is strictly business, The Answer Man takes it very personally.

Unlike MS, I have not lost all faith in my beloved franchise. I need the all the suits to stop over-selling a lie. Not just the suits at 2 Penn Plaza. The careless editors who decide on headlines, the people who have the ear of anyone in the Dolan family who could not tell a basketball from the front bumper of a Ford Taurus, and the local market impostors masquerading as sports journalists. Stop over-selling a lie.

Sometimes, even The Answer Man needs to rally his diverse following and shine a halogen spotlight on the money changers in the temple that once was The World's Most Famous Arena. In the immortal words of Floyd Mayweather's trainer (his Uncle Roger), before the start of the final round of his recent title bout against Juan Marquez,

"keep on doin what you doin... and stay away from that tricky ****...!"

exactly - it's ridiculous.. and btw, wasn't talking about soccer, because that's just insane. Hooligans, people storming the field - we had a national game against Sweden last year (in soccer, sorry guys) where a dude ran on to the field and tried to punch the referee for giving the Swedes a penalty kick.. Sometimes it gets out of control.

But back to the subject, I also reckon that this passiveness isn't just in the NBA. Imo it's in the NFL and MLB too.. It's only when playoffs arrive that the real fandom shows imho.

Yeah Marv. What goes around, always comes around.

The Answer Man just needs the experience to be authentic when it comes back around in 2011. Not something plastic, toxic or mass produced.

I don't want music playing when the ball is in play, I don't want to hear a single freakin word about Stephon Marbury, ever... and I don't care who is seated court side unless it is the son of Dancing Harry.

...last but not least, bring back the white warmup jackets.

we can’t do anything about that stuff. but winning is gonna make all that crap recede into the background and disappear. i doubt in the last couple of years that fans in LA and boston had any concern about what distractions and lame noises came out of the PA systems in their arenas.

Marv, on the contrary you can fight the power. You can do plenty about that stuff. Sideshow crap in the foreground dulls the focus on winning. The the moment any franchise gets the relationship between winning and entertainment backwards, that franchise is in serious trouble.

Where do you think the Lakers stole the idea to change the lighting of The Staples Center from?

Just win baby sounds good in theory, but even the Oakland Raiders "Committment To Excellence" rings hollow in Alameda County.

if ever in ny, go to a yankee game and sit with the bleacher creatures (section in the outfield where alot of die hard yankee fans sit - blue collar people - and you will see the closest thing to what you've witnessed to euro fandom...playoffs or not.

Yeah it's almost embarassing..did you notice the energy level during the introductions of the players, it was like a funeral, guys giving fake high fives, not even a little chess b umping..I knew we were in trouble before the ball was in the air.
