nothing will change. this is all smoke and mirrors to try to reignite interest in the knicks. these basic facts remain: dolan is still the owner. chaney is still the coach. we still have the same bunch of overpaid, untradable, unathletic, uninspired and unwatchable players.

The death spiral continues.

Remove all Layden did, even the potential good so Hardcore can be right? Milos is a punk, soft?
Ummm.... Yeah. He's not here helping our team. We need players that are willing to step in here and produce. Milos is lallygagging, so we use him as a bargaining chip. It's not so much about me being right, but using the resources we have to improve the team.

I don't care what these men are saying in a press conference as to
"making playoffs or winning a championship", this retoric has been spoken for years and has no substance. No press conference can dictate until it is spoken about. sucking in the propoganda is what they want. some are really eating this bullcrap up. Its ok to question all this without being a "Laydown" lover. Its called being an objective fan.
Good effort with the window dressing, but your habit of defending LayDown is well documented. Even in this thread, you went and took something I said to someone else personally. LayDown isn't your girlfriend (or is he? LOL) so stop trying to be his protector and defender. By the way, Isaiah was just hired yesterday, and all of a sudden he's spewing "propaganda"?? You were willing to give LayDown frigging eternity for him to play Dr. Frankenstein with this team. Can Zeke get more than 24 goddamn hours??? What the hell kind of "objectivity" is that? Give it a rest.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

UPDATE:

After playing the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night in Latrell Sprewell's return to Madison Square Garden, the Knicks will play Memphis, Miami and Orlando on the road before returning to New York for home games against the Heat, Bulls and Nets.

Only one of those six games will be against a team with a winning record, so Thomas will have that body of work to review by the time the Garden hosts its next big comeback game -- former coach Jeff Van Gundy's return Jan. 8 when the Knicks play the Houston Rockets.

``What he said about evaluating the team, that could wake some people up and get us on the ball. But then again, it depends on how people take it,'' Antonio McDyess said. ``I don't think he's going to sit back and not do anything.''

If Thomas tries to shake up the Knicks with a trade, he'll need to find a team willing to take on one of the long-term contracts given out under Layden.

Thomas would likely try to package players with expiring contracts (McDyess, Charlie Ward, Michael Doleac) together with Shandon Anderson (signed through '06-07 for $23.7 million), Howard Eisley (owed $20.7 million through '06-07) Keith Van Horn ($30 million through '05-06), Clarence Weatherspoon ($12.2 million through '05-06) or Houston ($57 million through '06-07).

Two of the Knicks other potentially movable players, Kurt Thomas ($5.9 million) and Othella Harrington ($3.1 million), have contracts that expire after next season.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I hope he does make a move or two soon. I am anxious to see the deals he'll come up with.

It feels good being able to look forward to trades again. Same goes for the upcoming draft.
