To be frank... we don't need any more scrubs

Then what makes you think we'll be 12-5 ?

three words: gallo, chandler, al, darko, lee, and nate. the rest are scrubs. so that's a big % of scrubs.

File, Save as... "Orangebloblman spouting nonsense"

I will raise a toast to this kid later tonight. I am really stoked he made the team. Imagine the next Starks (one of my all-time favorite Knicks, seriously - that dunk!) coming out for the team (undrafted) and turning into a solid role-player for us. More intrigue this pre-season than I expected.

And I am also glad to hear that DW is keeping a roster spot open for a possible mid-season trade. We may still move Fishlips and The Burger King this season.

Rookie - sports are what makes longshot dreams come true. Get with the program.

You get high on him to get high. You cheer for him because he worked his azz off to get this far where no one expected him to be.

No fanfare. No big press. No high pick, lottery noise or video highlights.

Just a worker bee.

I dig worker bees.

no hype. No fancy car. No car at all. No bling. No rap sheet. No posse, crew or skeezers waiting outside the locker room.

Just three hungry kids and a wife to keep happy.

What's not to like?

Earl: Don't forget that he paid his own way to New York for a tryout.

I heard he cuts his own hair too.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

bippity - it has been duly noted in the record. Thank you for the reminder.

Damn I love this kid for his courage and tenacity.

Too bad there was not a single nyc journalist who followed the details of his story as it evolved.

I bet his daily diary would be an inspiring read.

kam77 - classic

I love the fact he played out of position at Wisconsin to meet a team need at center. Center.

C'mon.

If we are the knowlegeable New York fans we claim we are and truly understand what he has accomplished, what a leap of faith REALLY is, how can Landry not be worthy of a loud standing ovation?

Looks like we have our own "Rudy".
Has everyone forgotten about Ewing Jr? Landry fills that sentimental void till Jr is healthy and then hopefully here ;)

I think this cat could eventually see a few minutes. Yeah, garbage time at first but he has a Tony Douglas strength about himself and that pays off...

Glad he made the team, but enough with the hero worship already. He has worked his way into a team full of scrubs and prospects. Kudos to him. Now let's see what he really does against a real NBA opponents in real NBA games.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

Hero worship loweye? No, just the opposite. He is a blue collar guy who paved his own way.

He paid his way to training camp and made the team and you consider this "hero worship"?

Not hardly.

Chalk one up for the more regular guys. Why is that so difficult to grasp?
